    Evocative
    Review by Christopher on 09/04/2017
I bottled it. Brewed with ordinary granulated sugar. Nothing else added. Tasted it too early. Wonderful. Left it a bit longer. Wonderful. The taste reminded me of something...years ago.I looked at the label; "Harvest ". Yes I could picture myself outside at the side of some sunshiny cornfield drinking it. But now I realise what it is.
Donkey's years ago we each used to make a small box at school with apples , oranges ,pears, whole vegetables, potatoes , carrots etc. for the school's Harvest Festival A mind of religious festival going back thousands of years. We distributed the boxes to OAPs afterwards The boxes had a certain fruity yet.....something..... and it is this taste/smell. Very well done Young's!!! This really is Harvest-Yorkshire. Love it. Just think..somehow it may taste better if I can stop drinking it until it matures. Ideal for sitting in the sun in the lazy hazy crazy days of summer. Away from work of course.! I think this my favourite beer so far. But I must taste the others on offer... It is such hard work :-)

    Splendid

Just made this with 1Kg of brewing sugar and 500g of Muntons extra light spray malt. Fermentation was complete in about 6 days. Left for another week in the fermenter before transferring to a pressure barrel and leaving for another week. Impatience got the better of me after a week and couldn't resist sampling it. Still only about 75% clear but had a good head and tasted lovely.

    Nice beer
    Review by Chrison 05/10/2013
Just tasted a drop out of the barrel after 3 weeks and it's a delicious brew, just needs another couple of days to get shiney and clear. Lighter than the 2kg brews but a great quaffing beer. Brother in law arrives in a few days. I doubt it will last long after that.

I bought my husband a 'kit' for Christmas which included everything he needed. he brewed an excellent barrel of wherry which has now almost gone. As soon as Young's Harvest very promptly and well packaged arrived he was off to start his next beer adventure!!!

3 wks from the start of brewing this ale i have just pulled my first pint from the barrel.Goodish head, nice bitter taste, just a little haze but i think this will go in a day or two,I used granulated sugar had a O.G of 1038 ending @1005 giving ABV 4.5%.
I am amazed at the quality of a so called budget kit, easy to brew with really good results.Given the price and quality I have to give this kit full marks. This is my first brew as i am a newbie to H/Brewing so i do not have a ref.point just chuffed this is so good.
