    Denny’s Favourite
    Review by Johnon 25/09/2017
Can be sluggish to start somtimes so I usually increase the temperature to 21° for the first 24 hours then reduce to 19°. The initial fermentation is quite sluggish compared to other beer yeasts so takes a bit longer to finish. The final results have always been good.

Re-ordering as it was so good
    Review by Muddyon 03/04/2015
I designed a Hoppy London Porter style ale where by I wanted to retain a simple porter style (some thing like Sam Smiths Taddy) but with more of a hint of bitterness and hoppy aroma (like Punk IPA). The Wyeast 1450 worked a treat, getting active in a very short period of time and after 6 days it was ready to bottle. Checking the bottles there is a small sentiment (expected), the brew clearing very quickly. I've sampled one bottle after 6 days secondary fermentation and am really pleased with the results. I will be re-ordering this yeast for the next brew that I am going to keg.

    excellent

Clean tasting and reliable. Velvety mouthfeel even with high attenuation. Great for both malt and hop-centred beers. Esters are very subtle but tasty. I have made excellent porters, IPA's, stouts, and malty amber ales (better at low temperatures for clean maltiness) with this yeast. One of my favourite.

    Jury is still out.
    Review by Gooderson 25/07/2013
From the off I need readers to understand that I have given 3 stars because I only started my most recent brew with this yeast on the previous Sunday and it has only just finished the primary fermentation. When the beer has been bottled, matured and the first batch tasted I will review my notes here accordingly.

Yeast is a moody old so and so and and it was with some trepidation that I activated my "Smack Pack" and awaited it's subsequent expansion. Bare in mind that yeast is fragile and this little packet has come half way round the world to end up in my small brew house. Given it's relatively expensive price I really needed a result.

Well the yeast activated and after some brisk stirring to introduce oxygen into the wort the yeast started frothing away like a good'un. Also the smell is a lot nicer than the normal smell experienced using dried yeast.

I have noticed that the amount of sedimentation is less than packet yeast that I have used (mostly Safale-05) but now primary fermentation is complete the beer has been transferred into a transparent settling tank it is very cloudy, more so than the equivalent brew using packet yeast.

Well that's where I'm at. SO far the yeast has done everything promised on the packet.

I will submit another review once the beer is at a drinkable stage.
