All orders are packed with care using air bags and bubble wrap where appropriate. In the unfortunate event that your order is damaged during transit we will replace all damaged items without quibble, including glass items, just send us a photo of the damaged items within 3 days of recieving delivery.

Please note that we only process orders Monday - Friday and therefore bank holidays can cause slight delays in despatch so please be patient at these times. There can also be a slight delay during extremely busy periods especially in the run up to Christmas but most orders will be despatched within a few days.

A signature is required for delivery and the courier will not leave your parcel unless it has been signed for.     Good, stable flavour (not horse)

    This yeast has never let me down. I brew 100 litres at a time in our experimental maltings and brewery. I propagate the Wyeast packet in 4 litres of a dried malt extract culture at 20 centigrade, stirred and aerated. In four days it is perfect for pitching into 100 litres of wort.

    Ordered WLP 028 but got this instead ! So I thought that i'd give it a try as it was going to be used for 3 batches of beer after being grown in a suitable starter first.
    The 1st beer made was a malt forward, Old Ale / Scottish Heavy style. It had an OG of 13.6 and finished at about 3 which was the expected final gravity. 3 months later it has produced a very easy drinking Ale with a good balance of malt and hop bitterness.
    The 2nd batch was a Sweet Stout, which was left to ferment for nearly 3 weeks in primary and also finished at the expected FG. However !! The last time I used WY 1318, which was much more suited for a sweet stout (Mackesons export).
    3rd batch was another Old Ale that had 1/2 lb of unrefined brown sugar added to the end of the boil along with a few de-seeded Tapas chillies and 1lb of honey when cooled down to 176F. A very large starter was used for this one and it finished at the expected gravity. This yeast has complimented the ingredients really well and the chillies are noticeable but not Fiery, just warm. Which works well as it's about 7% ABV

    So for an Old Ale or Scottish Heavy this yeast will get your batch of beer finished with really nice results.
    I made a 1.5 litre starter with 5.3 oz DME using 80ml of 4 week old slurry for the chilli beer. I think it ended up being about 240 Billion cells of yeast, slightly big but great results !
