  1. 100%
Fantastic yest for authentic Belgian Abbey-style ales

    Review by on

Great yeast, wonderful flavour and finishes nice and dry but does need careful handling. Produces a lot of heat so start low 18/19deg to control esters/phenols and let it rise, it will drop out if the temperature comes down and then stalls - for the same reason I find it better to lager in secondary and then add fresh yeast for reliable bottle conditioning. Performs best from a good starter or (ideally) if repitched from a similar or lower gravity brew.
  2. 100%
Great Yeast strain perfect for brewing Trappist Ales

    Review by on

I brought this yeast as part of a recipe for a Belgium Trappist Ale and the results have been brilliant. The yeast had no trouble in gobbling up the wonderful sugars from the mash and started fermenting within 3 hours.
When I'm next brewing a Trappist Ale I'm sure i will be back again.
