Concise, informative and quick turnaround of results
    Review by Andrewon 26/04/2017
I received the results within 7 working days and the information was clear on what my water chemistry was made of and what quantity of chemicals were needed to adjust my water for the best results for 3 main classifications of beer namely lagers, pale ales and bitter's, and dark beers such as milds / porters and stouts. If you are interested in trying to adjust your water to suit the beer then this test is good value for money.

Follow up to Previous review - Very Helpful
    Review by Philon 24/04/2017
As promised, a follow up to my previous. Murphy's replied promptly to my query about bicarbonate ions and sodium. Sodium comes as an extra test (£25.75 plus VAT) as it is not strictly necessary to mash success (it does affect flavour and body though!) and they were kind enough to extrapolate the bicarb values for me (even showing their working!). I'm just going to use my Thames valley water report for my sodium value, so now I'm ready to go so far as Beersmith 2 is concerned. Great customer service.

    Clear and confidence inspiring
    Review by Philon 23/04/2017
Report arrived within the 10 days promised. A clear and simple report which really gives you confidence that your liquor is right for the job. I docked a star as there are no values for Sodium and Bicarbonate ions (required in Brewsmith 2). I have emailed Murphy's about this, and will follow up this review if they give a helpful reply.

An excellent way to level up on your brewing
    Review by Chrison 21/04/2017
When you buy this you will receive a small container to give a sample of water. Within a couple of weeks you will receive a tailored report telling you what chemicals to add to your water to get a better brewing result. The report has separate sections for Ale styles, Stout/Porter and Lager.

The lab sent my results promptly and were very helpful afterwards with a couple of questions I had. Looking forward to better brews in the future.

    Brilliant
    Review by ianon 21/04/2017
Took less than 2 weeks from receiving sample jar to receiving results via email from Murphy & Sons Ltd. I have recently brewed TT Landlord AG kit (kit supplied by Brew Uk) and added the recommended ions to the grist and the mash pH was spot on at 5.4. I want to give a special mention to Murphy & Sons as I had a few questions about the analysis a couple of weeks after I received their table of results and they have been fantastic in responding. Highly recommended. My brother is going to have his mains water tested too! :)

    An excellent service
    Review by stephenon 27/03/2017
The analysis of my tap water was e-mailed to me more quickly than I anticipated. I'm really impressed with this service and keen to make use of the result when I brew later this week.

    no-brainer
    Review by Gimleton 12/02/2017
This is an excellent service that's noticeably improved my beers. Well worth the money.

I had the analysis done 10 brews ago. Since then I've enjoyed a marked improvement in the quality and longevity of my brews.

Farewell to unwelcome taints. Hello crisp, clean, delicious BEER.

    Bit slow but very useful
    Review by Harrisonon 30/07/2016
Sample posted 7/7/16. Analysis not received until 20/7/16. Having said that they did apologise for the delay. (due to heavy workload).
A very useful analysis though which differed somewhat from the oficial water company analysis. Possibly because I always pass tap water for brewing through a carbon filter. The suggestions for treating the water for various typs of beer are also very useful. In the past have spent hours on "Brewers Friend" and "Brunwater" trying to get to a satisfactory balance.
This is a very good idear.

    Good Service
    Review by Johnon 10/05/2016
The report came back in the expected time scale, it is easy to read and understand. I'm sure my beer will be enhanced and look forward to finding out. I did however have a little difficulty in searching for AMS (a product listed) on the Brewuk website.

Very clear and simple report telling me what to add to my water for specific beer types. Just what I need when planning my first all grain brew - I have enough new information to handle without getting into complex water chemistry!

    Quick and fast
    Review by Andyon 31/07/2015
Got the pre-paid envelope from BrewUK, filled it up with my tap water and sent it off. Got an email about 2 working days later with a really comprehensive analysis of my water. It didn't give advice about how to remove the hardness of my water, but there's a lot of material on the internet about this, but it did tell me the chemical additions to make for pales, bitters, lagers and stouts. These, for me, came down to 5 chemicals to buy all of you can find on BrewUK.

RESPONSE FROM BREWUK - Hi Andy, it does remove hardness, that is what the AMS/CRS does.

    Brilliant service!
    Review by @kungfuramoneon 28/07/2015
It's easy to get a water report from United Utilities, but what makes this service worth slapping some cash down for is the recommendationed mineral additions for different styles of beer. Just a couple of days after sending off my sample I got an email detailing my water composition, no messing!

    Very Useful and Quick Service
    Review by Davidon 28/07/2015
This a a brilliant and efficient service provided by Murphy's.

After returning the stamped addressed envelope with your water sample you get results back in a week with detailed analysis and recommendations on water treatment for your water for a variety of common beer styles.

Once you apply the suggested treatment you will notice the positive difference in your beer!

    Great Service!
    Review by Tomon 20/03/2015
You receive an pre-stamped envelope with a test vial in. Simply fill up and pop in the post with the completed form. Does all of your needed minerals.

It would be good to get a Sodium figure, but only because it can then be directly put in to a water calculator such as Brewer's Friend.

    Brilliant and Helpful Analysis
    Review by Alexon 19/03/2015
I simply sent off a sample of our mains water in the bottle provided and popped it in the stamped addressed envelope provided along with the simple form supplied.

You get a 2 page report with 3 tables relating to 3 styles: Lagers and Pilsners; Stouts, Porters and Milds; and Bitters and Pale Ales.

For each style (table) you get a reading followed by lower and upper limits for target ions as follows:
    Calcium
    Magnesium
    Chloride
    Sulphate
    Alkalinity as CaCO3

In addition for each style there are readings for pH, Nitrate and Hardness as CaCO3.

Finally for each style there are recommendations for treatments to attain the quality of water required per 25 litres of liquor used.

We have Spring water too and are thinking of getting this analysed :-)
