Review by Stephen on
Whats more to say this is good stuff not only for cleaning the brew kit, but the dish washer, washing machine, etc... Great household product -
100%Great stuff
Review by Carre on
I can't complain when it comes to this stuff. It is great value for money with regards to some of the more expensive stuff out there. It does what is says on the tin. I have never tried any of the more expensive brands like star-san, but that is mainly due to the price. Plus I would be rinsing everything regardless of whether it is called for it or not, so I cant justify the price of brands like star-san. Maybe one day, but for now I am more than happy with VWP. Also I only bottle my beer so don't have to worry much about stainless steel. -
100%Works fine
Review by Russell on
I use plastic beer barrels and fermenting bins. This sterliser works fine for me. -
20%Caution using this on Cornelius Kegs
Review by Thunderbird7 on
I have a brand new AEB Cornelius keg which has developed 2 rusted areas inside after only a few uses.
I have always used VWP to clean it. Being new to home brewing I have been very careful to follow the instructions on dosage and rinsing.
I contacted BrewUk and they tell me that this will have been caused by VWP as it contains chlorine! This isn't evident on the container, which actually suggests use on stainless steel and for cleaning and sanitising for home brewing. AEB also state it is the cleaning chemical that has caused the problem. It seemed to work well but I certainly wont be using it again.

100%The only one
Review by Richard on
Really good, if you come to use a fermenter after not using it for a while this stuff gets rid of any mustiness in seconds, I also leave some in the kegs between brews. -

Always used this to sterilise my equipment with no problems as long as you rinse thoroughly. -

This steriliser is essential for all home brewers, just make sure you thoroughly rinse with cold water after and then sanitise with Star san before you use your equipment. -

Review by Alex on
This stuff I find is great when cleaning out the FV and it needs a bit of a soak. Cleans up a treat and have never had a problem with infection after using it. Also used on all other equipment when brewing. Just make sure that it is well rinsed after before using. -

100%Steriliser of last resort
Review by Keith on
When nothing else works, VWP does. Vessels need to be well rinsed after using VWP but they certainly are clean & sterile. -
100%Chemical warfare on bacteria
Review by Gavin on
I use this to sterilise everything I use on brew day. So simple, fill up your fermenting vessel with water, add the vwp dump everything in and leave for duration of mash and boil. Yes, it needs rinsing, but not much and the fermenter is a large easy to rinse vessel. Have also used with bottling, but prefer starsan when sterilising bottles. -

Review by Clubroot on
I always have some handy for cleaning and sterilising plastic fermentation bins and kegs. I economise use by mixing a teaspoon in a few pints of warm water in the fermentation bin, snap on the lid and turn it upside down. Leave to soak for around 20 mins to shift that stubborn tide mark left after primary fermentation. -
100%good cleaner
Review by John on
I've use this for years. It does more than sterilise brewing gear. Manky thermos = no problems. -
100%Good reliable steriliser

Review by Dave on
I have used this product for years. It is easy to use and very efficient. You need a big tub as you will go through a lot of it if you brew regularly especially if you are bottling. Does the job, I recommend it. -

Review by Adam on
Been using this for years. Great product. Have used others but always prefer this one and will continue to use for many years to come. -
100%Superb cleaner
Review by Paul on
First cleanser I used when started brewing and never changed as cleans brilliantly. I top up my used fermentor with a solution of level teaspoon to 5l warm water and leave it overnight to soak. In the morning, empty and rinse. All hard encrusted parts are removed and ready for next brew. Found BrewUK to also be the best price found for this 400gm pack. -
100%Fabulous cleaning
Review by Elaine on
A must have for home brew but also useful throughout the home. -
100%The best steriliser/cleaner
Review by ALASDAIR on
VWP has to be the best cleaner/steriliser. I use this for all my home brewing. My only issue is it is not available in a bigger container from BrewUK.
Response from Brewuk - They are now available in 4kg too. -
Excellent Product

Review by Oliver on
This is the best cleaner sanitiser I know of! VWP is a standard for all my brewing, cleaning fermentors and barrels as well as getting them sanitised ready for the next brew!
As others have said, rinse well or you'll get a chlorine taste left over in your beer and no one want's that! -
100%Brilliant!
Review by Anthony on
I love this stuff... just use warm water - rinse, rinse, rinse well! Multi purpose great on discoloured cutlerly and mugs too! -
100%Go to sanitiser
Review by Robin on
Great for cleaning and sanitising all your equipment. I have used other barrel cleaners that are no where near as effective and using this never had a problem with infection. Definitely need to rinse thoroughly though!
Also great is any of your plastic equipment becomes stained, just leave it soaking overnight and itll be good as new in the morning! -
100%Cleans a treat
Review by Mark on
Used this for all my brewing equipment and to spray on worktops, computer keyboards and dishcloths etc. Works a treat on most things that needs cleaning or sanitising. Just needs a good wash with water.

100%Good value steriliser
Review by Mark on
Works well and rinse well. Ok to use on pressure valves for barrels as does not contain sodium metabisulphite. Must rinse well, ie 3-4 times to remove all traces of product before using any brewing vessel. -
80%Excellent sanitiser, but rinse well
Review by Alex on
This is chlorine based, so rinse it properly to avoid any off-tastes.
