The newest beer from our sister brewery, Dark Revolution. Velveteen is a smooth, Chocolate, oatmeal stout. Organic Cocao nibs and lactose give this beer an amazing mouthfeel and complimentary Chocolate aroma which is balanced rather than sickly and overbearing. This recipe pack will give you approx 4 litres of 4.8% ABV beer. Stove toppers are a great way to brew small batches of beer using completely raw ingredients using the same methods as a professional brewer. They come with full instructions and are designed as refills for the Stove Toppers Starter kits but can be brewed with the additional equipment as below. The perfect introduction to All grain brewing or for those who do not have room for full scale setup's. They require the following additional equipment: Large Pan (min 8 Litres) Thermometer 5 litre fermenter (or demi john) with bung and airlock. Syphon tubing. Bottles or easy keg to serve the beer. These kits are not supplied with any finnings. You may decide to use Irish moss or protafloc for better clarity and these can be purchased seperately.

Brewed up in early october, nice and straighforward, racked onto the nibs in a secondary after 5 days (didn't sterilise them in alcohol or anything)
managed 8 500mL bottles out of it thanks to no dry hop and heavy floccing yeast.
Tasted great after 3 weeks, managed to leave the rest until now.
Really great brew, nice roasted malt flavours with just a hint of chocolate on the back end, good mouthfeel from the lactose but by no means too sweet (don't panic if your FG seems high, lactose doesn't ferment, mine finished at 1018)
Would be nice to have some expected pre/post boil and FG but not an issue
Will definitely buy the full size kit in the new year once I've sorted out the brewery! Have been doing 5-10L BIAB for over a year but I think it's time now.
5L Stove top is a fun introduction and great to learn about the processes but it works out you spend like an hour making each bottle!
One note I have is I recommend you get some protafloc/irish moss etc. Not a necessity by any means but if you're doing BIAB you're getting a lot of trub into the boil, satisfying to see the wort drop clear when chilling!
    Cheers
