    dissapointing - very bland
    Review by Chrison 03/09/2017
this was my 20th extract brew, which have varied from premium kits to cheap ones with added hops. The resulting beer was the least popular of all of them - very little aroma, no bitterness perhaps due to the small quantity of bittering hops in the kit. Of the Crafty Brew kits I have tried I would definitely recommend Mosaic in preference to this one.

    Excellent

This is my first extract brew. Thankfully, the instructions were easy to follow and with not a lot of extra effort than a standard 2-can kit.

I've cracked open the first bottle tonight and it is a very very good match to Summer Lightning. It could probably do with a few more weeks, but now that genie is out of the bottle, it's never going to happen. I'm really pleased with the outcome.

    Nice Drop
    Review by Sarahon 23/01/2016
Lovely drinkable ale. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Brew cleared in 2 weeks. Struggled to get the FG down so bit weaker than it should be but very enjoyable.

    Not tried drinking it yet
    Review by Rechtson 08/08/2015
My first DME brew. I like the fact that I don't have to create the recipe myself, because experimentation takes a long time. Directions were easy to follow. I'm looking forward to bottling this one. I hope it tastes anywhere near the real bottle conditioned brew. So far, so good!

    Great supping ale
    Review by Muddyon 10/02/2015
My first full mash brew, and I'm delighted with the results.
Maybe i should have saved some hops back to dry hop to give a fuller hop flavour, but having said that its got a nice bitter after taste to it. Bottled at around around 2% CO2 which gives a nice light head. Very drinkable and cerainly one I will be making again

    Summery and lively
    Review by Titchon 09/06/2013
Brewed well, we kegged 1/2 and bottled 1/2. Unfortunately, the keg failed to ferment in keg and lost pressure. We tried to resurrect it by gassing the keg and putting in more yeast and sugar but it didn't work and we ended up pouring it away.
The bottled stuff is well carbonated and easy to drink with just about the best floculation ever so there's no waste from the bottle.
Recommended for those summer BBQs but not sure it tastes like the real Summer lightning

    Sweet and Malty
    Review by Daveon 18/10/2012
My first proper extract kit, everything went smoothly - the total process took about 3 hours. Fermented for 14 days and easily got to 5.1%.

The taste is very malty, and still retains quite a bit of sweetness that lingers in the mouth. Not as hoppy as I was expecting though, the hop flavour seems to be drowned out a bit by the sweetness. Overall, not bad but I've had better.
