This 3.0 kg twin can boxed beer kit is the first in a planned new range of beer kits made in conjunction with the world renowned brewery - St Peters, based in Bungay Suffolk. The first to be released is the Ruby Red Ale – A delicious tawny red ale with subtle malt undertones and a distinctive spicy hop aroma. St. Peter’s Brewery is situated in beautiful unspoiled countryside in north Suffolk close to the historic market town of Bungay. St. Peter’s Hall is the centerpiece of the brewery site and dates from around 1280. In 1539 the East wing was added using materials from the nearby Flixton Nunnery, which was one of a dozen Monastic houses given to Cardinal Wolsey by King Henry VIII to finance the building of a school in Ipswich, Suffolk’s county town Then as today, Suffolk barley was carefully malted to brew beers and that tradition lives on today in the St Peter’s brewery.

    Very good

This is the second time I have made this kit, having had great results the first time. On this occasion I used San Diego super yeast as I had some available from another batch and I also dry hopped it for a week with 25g of mosaic hops. The outcome was something like an American Pale Ale or IPA. I also made it a bit short (about 20l) so it ended up at about 5% abv. A nice easy and reliable kit with a great taste and a nice creamy white head.

This was my first home brew... and I am now hooked!

Great beer kit. I did it as my first home brew. I had tried the bottled Ruby Red from St Peters Brewery and had it as a really good beer, so I was a bit sceptical of what I could get with a beer kit. Needless to say that I was impressed. it was easy to brew, and it didnt last long once it had conditioned for three weeks in the bottles. I thoroughly recommend it.
