A must have for all grain brewing

I was asked to trial Protofloc when it first came on the market and I have always been impressed. Much more reliable than Irish Moss in producing a more consistently complete hot break. Once tried, there's no going back.

    looks like oddfellows
    Review by homeboy brewerson 08/12/2016
at less than 5p a dose why wouldn't you give these a go , you can visibly watch the reaction , pulling together and forcing down the proteins much cheaper and better for your brew than waiting to late and using beer finings that pull down everything including active yeast.

    Great

Always use one in my AG brews and they seem to make a huge difference, with the proteins clumping together and then finally sinking during cold crashing.

    Can't say I've noticed a difference
    Review by Martinon 05/10/2016
I used a quarter tablet for the 23L all grain landlord recipe but it doesn't seem to be clearing any quicker than other similar brews that I have done without adding a tablet. So can't confirm if they do anything or not although it has only been 2 weeks in the bottle. I am hoping that the flavour isn't affected but will add another review if it does.

Superb to end up with a clear wort. Highly recommended especially for pale beers/lagers.

Clearing agent works well for crystal clear brews using BIAB technique

    Simply great
    Review by Edwardon 24/03/2016
I've been extract brewing with speciality grains for quite a few years, and was under the impression that clearing agents were a waste of time or for AG only.

    So very wrong!

I have used these twice now and even checking the gravity of the wort you can see the proteins clumping together.
The 1st batch is still conditioning after bottling but I have never had bottles clear so fast.
The 10 tablets have to be quartered, which is a pain hence the 4 stars but still good value as the 10 tablets are good for 40 brews.

Just 1/4 of a tablet made my wort incredibly clear. Then, after fermentation it kept getting clearer. I'm using this from now on as a mandatory ingredient.

Does what it says on the tin!
    Review by Amronon 07/09/2015
Have used on a number of batches now to great effect - beers clear up so much better now than without!
Would highly recommend, especially if you have never used anything like this before.

    Pretty good

I found this to work better then Irish Moss. Seem to produce a clearer end result. Economical too as use by date on Irish moss seems to be less.

Great if you like clearing your beer up!
    Review by Tomon 03/06/2015
Work great, used 1/2 a tablet per batch.

It works by binding the proteins from the boil together and helps them drop out of suspension leaving a lovely sludgy mess at the bottom of the kettle.

I added 1/2 a tablet to a TT all grain 15 minutes from the end of boil. Very fast acting, leaving a very clear liquor

Seems so much better than Irish Moss. Just used a quarter tablet in a standard five gallon low colour malt brew and the liquor drained off the hops really clear, leaving the gunge right at the bottom of the bucket.
