    Goes down easy
    Review by Hairysteve666on 07/06/2017
Brewed as per instructions but had a wee problem with the temp as it got really warm one night in the brewing room (utility room) & it looked like fermentation had stopped. So after a frantic email to the helpful folks at brew uk for advice it was sorted. Left in primary for 8 days then kegged & left in the airing cupboard for 10 days then out to the garage for another 2 weeks. Was a bit lively coming out of the keg but settled nicely. No nasty smells or aftertaste.
A decent pint of cider from a kit that has received some negative reviews. Will definitely try this again.

    Yuk!
    Review by Michaelon 07/07/2016
Smells vile and is way too sweet and yeasty, even when left it smells sulphuric. I'm not sure that there is a decent cider kit on the market and they seem to be where homebrew beer was 30 years ago

    Good
    Review by Keithon 07/01/2014
I've found this kit to be pretty good. I've tried a few cider kits including some that were considerably more expensive but keep coming back to this one. It's not perfect and if you are expecting something of the quality of Weston's Organic or Magners then you may be disappointed but I think it represents good value for money and brews a decent drink.

In general I don't think cider kits have achieved the same level of sophistication that beer kits have reached, but it's a decent quaffable cider that doesn't break the bank - this cider costs ~50p/pint: set expectations accordingly and be very pleasantly surprised.

    too sweet
    Review by andioon 04/03/2013
Very very sweet once complete. Smells a bit but most brewing does. Would do it again but would use half the apple sweetener rather than all. Still was fizzy 6.0 percent and not a million miles away from champagne like qualities. Trying the mixed berry now.

    Good stuff!
    Review by DenAFCon 11/09/2012
Nice easy to make kit, instructions simple to follow, didnt order enough sugar (only order 1kg) so topped up with normal sugar to the 1.3kg as required. ABV was around 5.8% altough it did not taste like it! luckily we have had a little bit of sunshine this past week to be able to enjoy it outdoors! Will make again.

    value for money.
    Review by Stanleyon 11/03/2012
My first cider kit, plesantly surprised by the results, really tasty and lots of fizz. The only thing to let it down was the smell whilst fermenting, however after a few weeks in a bottle this dissapeared and I was left with some lovely cider. To be honest £17 for 40 pints well worth the money in my opinion, will certainly be trying the rest of the flavours!

Reasonable drop but hold yer nose
    Review by Hamstergberton 10/02/2012
First attempt at a cider kit. Cleared in days but trying it soon thereafter was a mistake. Yuk. After a couple of months considerably more drinkable, very refreshing albeit with an slightly unusual, not actually unpleasant taste.
However I have, reluctantly, to agree with the other reviews of this product as far as the 'nose' is concerned - risk a sniff only on those days when your vasomotor Rhinitis is particularly bad as it does chuck up.
However, with lots of joss sticks to offset the aroma I have still managed to enjoy the stuff. But not offer it to anyone else.
Trying something from a different maker now. Unlikely to return to this one again any time soon.

    That smell
    Review by Simonon 09/02/2012
There's definitely an unpleasant odour. I've made better. Two stars, though, as none of it got poured down the sink. There are other cider kits out there.

    Very very poor
    Review by Jordanharton 20/11/2011
I feel if someone had reviewed this cider it would of saved me the dissapointment . I was sold this under the pretence that they use premium apples what a load of rubbish.
It brewed well even if it smelt like one of my son's wet nappies unfortunately it's never lost that smell much to my embarrassment when trying to promote the joy of home brewing to friends I obviously got used to the smell that they smelt instantly and put them off instantly. The flavour yes it has hints of apples but tastes like a faked apple flavour like you would get in a diet apple drink not like a premium cider apples by the way look at the ingredients list it includes white grape juice I'm assuming to bulk out the the concentrate not what I would expect from a premium product.
