    just right
    Review by Christopher on 18/03/2017
I used a barrel. Lovely. Nice head. I might prime it with slightly less sugar next time or try leaving it longer before drinking. I sense it would get even better if I could resist it for a couple more weeks.

    Dark treacle in a glass!
    Review by Paulon 01/11/2015
This is a nice beer, very dark and definite dark treacle flavour in there with the hops. I can't help compare it with Lights Out extract kit (I'm drinking both at present) and have to say the extract kit has the edge and is much more refined. anyone who likes this will like Lights Out Black IPA.

    Excellent dark ale
    Review by davidon 15/07/2015
I have just brewed my second kit,the first one was probably the best beer I have brewed. I did manage to leave it in the barrel before starting to drink it, however it didn't last long as it was very popular with all my drinking mates. It was a very smooth dark ale very similar to Theakstons Old Peculiar but better !
I am now trying very hard to leave this brew until the clocks are moved back.

only my second atmempt at breweing but im a fan
    Review by yamr6on 03/02/2013
i like a dark winter ale and this does not disapoint . i bought 3 muntons kits to save on the postage this was the second i brewed and its well worth its price
i fermented in a bucket with a loose lid on a brew mat as my kitchens small and and has no heating so gets cold during the day it fermented out in 6 days i left it to stand for another 3 days and then into a king keg with 100g of sugar i used( 60g with my first attempt and had to add gass halfway down the barrel) im hoping to get a little more gas into this one after a week i tasted it and it was fine a little hazy but i could have drank it
now 3 weeks later its superb rich malty taste with a long hoppy after taste like no other beer i have realy tasted may need a little hops added when i experiment but i can tell this isnt going to last long
next up muntons premier gold midas touch

    Looks like Guinness but ..
    Review by Richardon 22/06/2012
.. tastes much nicer! A beautiful rich dark ale as good as any I've had in a pub and better than some. I recommend adding some finings to assist clearing though as my first couple of Muntons' brews took some time. Mind you this stuff's so dark you can't really tell if it's clear or not!

    Very good result
    Review by Granton 28/03/2012
I was very happy with the result. Would defo get it again. But will use a better yeast next time as it will go off quicker, but, to be fair that may have been due to the cold weather.
