    Great Pilsner
    Review by Timon 08/03/2017
I have made this kit twice now and hopped it each time and used S-23 yeast, it really is an excellent beer and my go to if I want a nice easy kit to thrown together in a short amount of time.

    Gets better with age
    Review by Swell2316on 10/10/2013
This was my first attempt at home brew and I was a little worried about what the outcome would be. I followed some direction from the forum and used SAF23 yeast instead of the one provided. I also added 200g of brewing sugar to the decanted wort, prior to bottling (I like a bit fizz). I tried the result after approximately 6 weeks and wasn't that impressed with the taste. The taste was very homebrewy, and I thought something had gone wrong during the process, so I abandoned it and left it in the spare room. Having left it for a further 6 or 8 weeks I put a few bottles in the fridge and gave it another go. The result was miraculous and I got through quite a bit of it. I had a friend round and he was blown away by its taste and fizz, the only problem was I only had a few bottles left. I'm about to put my second batch on, which I'll leave until spring to see how it turns out.

    A Bang average lager
    Review by Gunnerholicon 04/10/2012
So I decided to try this kit shortly after making the Coopers European lager which I was suitably impressed with. I used this kit and replaced the ale yeast with a Saflager 23 in order to make a true lager.
The kit was ready and at its best after about a 3 month wait, however the taste is nothing to write home about. It is not just this kit either, I have made a few from the Munton's Gold range and they are very malt heavy, there is very little hop presence and it is the same with the 'continental pils'. By this description I was expecting a Kronenbourg-esque floral aroma with a dry but slightly fruity hop finish. This would be an excellent base kit and if you were to add some saaz aroma hops for example the continental pils would probably rival the Kronenbourg's and Heineken's. 3/5
