    Beautiful
    Review by Jimbobon 05/02/2014
I've been experimenting with Saracen's tweak for Wherry on other brews. For Black Pearl, I dropped the volume to 21l and added the standard 250g DME. Didn't know which hops were used so didn't dry hop. Three weeks in FV (twas Xmas), 2 weeks under the kitchen table and 2 weeks in the garage. It shouldn't be this good! Dare I say the best kit brew I've done (and I love Wherry). It's going fast!

    Good stuff
Review by Sheff town breweron 03/09/2013
This was my second homebrew after trying a Woodfordes. Great choice. Left it in the bottles down the cellar for 2.5 months and when I returned from abroad it was matured with a decent head. Full flavour of a stout but not as strong as Guinness. Highly drinkable if you enjoy your stout. Interestingly, the sediment remains stuck to the bottom of the bottle when you pour so you don't get it in your pint - definite plus. Now going to try another Milestone kit.

    Cracking kit
    Review by Jameson 04/12/2012
A smashing kit, and very easy to make. We did our unmodified, and still rake in praise from friends. Next time I will be trying with a little less water, though.

The big thumbs up from me!
    Review by Peteon 11/06/2011
I added enough water to this kit to make 37 pints rather than 40, adding 250g of dried malt extract extra dark to the fermentation bucket with the 6 pints (3 1/2 litres) of boiling water. After a month in the barrel, it tastes fantastic. I definitely recommend this kit.

    Review by Craigon 06/02/2011
Super stuff - added a bit of treacle at the start and it's resulted in a slightly sweet yet hoppy finish. Rich, smooth and creamy - holds it head until the end of the pint. Brilliant stuff, gimme more!

    Milestone Black Pearl Stout
    Review by Ruffskion 06/02/2011
Just finished my first batch. I added three big tablespoons of treacle to the extract at the start to give this an added kick and reduced the water by 3 litres - It's brilliant, thick and creamy with a slightly sweet but hoppy aftertaste. I've not had to add any gas to the barrel as yet and it's holding a good thick head to the end of every pint. I'll be brewing much more of this!!

    A good one
    Review by birdmanon 25/08/2010
This has to be one of the best stouts available to brew at home, with the ability to tweak the final flavour using the enclosed hop bag. Be patient with this one. you will be rewarded! Has a definite Irish stout body and flavour. Does equally well in the bottle or barrel. ABV of 4.3%.
