Details

Our Grains are supplied fresh from our local supplier Warminster maltings. We stock crushed malts but we can get any of the malts whole if required, please contact us for more details. Warminster Malt is handmade using traditional floor methods, one of only 3 maltings in the UK still producing this way. The malts produced are of the very highest quality and the better the ingredients the better the beer. All around Warminster, the chalk soils of Wiltshire produce some of the finest barleys in England, and provide the best source of raw material for the maltings.

    Great Base Malt
    Review by Markon 22/03/2017
Use this in pretty much all of my beer recipes that utilise a pale malt as the base. Never had any issues over quality. Would be great if it came in 5Kg bags though.

Warminster Maris Otter remains my favourite pale malt. It consistently gives me at least 3 points over my target gravity.

Excellent - just pay attention to the proportion of water to use
Review by JabeerIni home breweron 06/04/2016
This malt is excellent, smells great and keeps a pale color (which is often wanted).
Just pay attention to the proportion of water you use in order to achieve maximum efficiency. I used 1Kg per 5L of water and my results were great.

    My go to Pale malt

Best pale my for my beers. Its spot on and consistent high quality.

    Very good
    Review by Javieron 26/02/2016
It makes a very good wort but you just gotta make sure you sparge very well. Otherwise you'll lose lots of this beauty's juices (which was my case -BIAB-). Won't happen next time! great malt, very light color, perfect for IPAs.

    Top malt
    Review by Daveon 26/01/2016
I've used Warminster Maris Otter for several years now and it's always been top notch for taste and predictable gravities. For the majority of my brews I would see no reason to change.

    Good pale malt
    Review by Mikeon 10/12/2015
Using just 3kgs of this, plus a few specialty grains and some honey or sugar will create an amazing very drinkable and tasty beer ! Having to account for postage, as I do not live on mainland UK I generally buy enough for 3 batches of beer. This then makes the cost of a pint about 40p or less. And if the base malt in your recipes are measured out in kgs you don't even have to weigh it out, just cut open a corner and stir it in to your mash water !

    Bag size perfect
    Review by Tonyon 10/11/2015
Good malt, bought in bulk for a few brews. The bag size is perfect, and though some will probably be left over, the size of the bag means the remainder fits easily into an Ikea plastic tub to keep it fresh for the next brew

    Good packet size
    Review by Johnon 22/10/2015
Excellent malt as ever but I think I like the packet size best. Was using 3kg and splitting bags but with 1kg the malt stays fresher.

    Great Product
    Review by Daveon 23/01/2013
Brew UK uses Warminster Maltings as their source of Maris Otter and other malts. I have used this now for several brews and had no adverse issues - at least none to do with the malt.
