    Sadly not their usual Standard
    Review by AJOBon 23/10/2016
I like Kenridge classic kits i have made many over the years and particularly like the Barolo and Pinot Grigio.
I had similar great expectations for the Cabernet Sauvignon kit which i made a while ago.
Unfortunately the end result was somewhat lacking in flavour and depth. In fact i regard it as a poor second to the Cellar 7 equivalent and that is not something i would have expected. I will continue to buy Kenridge classic kits but will give this one a miss in the future. No much goes to waste in our house though so it will be used for cooking.

    Smooth and full bodied
    Review by Peter Kon 01/10/2016
This is a lovely "Cab Sav" being smooth, full bodied and drinkable right from the bottling stage. Tried this one when it was on offer (usually go for the Beaverdale) and it is remarkably similar. Quite liked the instruction sheet which includes boxes to record dates as you proceed through the making process. Am now hoping the remaining bottles mature such that they are even better. Great kit though and definitely worth trying.

    Great wine
    Review by Sallyon 19/03/2015
A fantastic wine that's easy to brew. I have brewed over 50 Cabernet sauvignons and always the same result, very easy to brew and an excellent tasting wine every time. My favourite of the Reds.

Really good full bodied red wine
    Review by Paulon 07/04/2013
Well took a picture to post with the review but can't find a facility to upload??

Anyhow this is the second time i have made Kenridge classic cabernet sauvignon and as usual it has come out really well. I've probably made about 20 of these 30 bottle kits over the last few years - normally white wines - but i have recently found the white wines a little difficult to clear on the last two batches so decided on the red for a change. The initial fermentation took longer than seven days - 11 to be precise but this is 3 days less than i normally find it takes on the white wine. The initial fermentation started within a day and by day 3 it was continuous bubbling - i have never known such a vigorous fermentation on any wine i have made. The wine was fully cleared by day 28 (yesterday) and we sampled it last night.
    Our impressions-

Medium - full bodied red wine - deep colour/very sharp /fruity/ particularly black currant flavour and oak. Great with any red meat or on its own.

Personally i prefer the Shiraz which i will make next time but i suppose that really is a question of individual taste

When you consider this wine costs in the region of £1.50 a bottle to make it really is amazing value for money - imo it would not be out of place comparing it to a £8 bottle of wine.

Response from brewuk - thanks for the review Paul, sorry about the image function but why not upload to our Facebook page as we would love to see it. If you can't then email us the photo and we will stick it up.

    Wow this is really good
    Review by Jimmyon 25/06/2009
I have been making various kits for the past couple of years, mostly cheaper kits like definitive and solomum grundy but have upgraded more recently to the cal con. Thought i would try these and see if there was a difference. You can definately taste the difference and worth the extra money, especially with the effort of making wine. Gonna still make some cheaper one's but will definately be making another of these. Recommended. 5 star.
