    Faulty batch.
    Review by Danielon 22/04/2017
If I was BrewUK I would be taking these back to the supplier. Almost 50% of the airlocks that I bought have small holes in the lower section of the body that allows the santiser to leak out and renders them useless as airlocks.

Until they fix the problem I would not buy these.

    Cheap Rubbish
    Review by Shaunon 14/03/2017
I ordered 2 of these items so 4 in total.
Like other reviews have stated they Leaked.
On closer inspection 3 of the 4 of them had a hole in exactly the same place so it looks like a faulty mould. Also note these are not supplied loose not in a Youngs homebrew labeled packaging. I think these are cheap copies.

Response from BrewUK - Sorry about Shaun. Please email and we'll replace them. They are exactly the same product as the photo, just in plain packing as we buy in bulk rather than in packs of 2.

Used properly a much better airlock
    Review by Alexon 06/03/2017
A little smaller than the bubble air lock with the red cap so turned out to be perfect for my brew fridge so that I could get 2 fermenters in it. Plus a lot easier to clean that a bubble airlock!

    Leaky airlock
    Review by Craigon 07/02/2017
I had a similar experience to the previous reviewer - both of these leaked so I binned them and fitted a blowoff tube instead.

    Broken on delivery
    Review by Tomon 16/01/2017
I received one of these airlocks in a beginners kit and it was cracked and leaked meaning i had to buy a replacement quickly. i opted for a bubbler as they seem more sturdy.

RESPONSE FROM BREWUK - Sorry to hear that. If you contact customer service we'll send a replacement.

    Much Quieter
    Review by Lukeon 01/05/2016
I prefer these to the bubbler airlock as they're a lot quieter, I would agree that they're less suited for the first few days of fermenter as the bubbler released CO2 more easily I believe, then again I always use a blow-off as I get excess foaming regardless. So if your fermenter is within your bedroom then these are great once the vigorous fermentation has finished.

    Best airlocks
    Review by Mikeyon 09/12/2015
Simply put these are the best airlocks, why? They are SILENT!! Perfect, also I have no idea what this person below me is on about they don't sit awkwardly in use, your meant to push the top down into the bottom not just rest it there

Easy to clean but not perfect
    Review by Daveon 01/09/2015
These are a doddle to scrub clean which is their main advantage. As others have commented, they are more fiddly than bubbler airlocks because of their tendency to sit awkwardly in use. You have to be prepared to keep an eye on them. For me, they're worthwhile because of their short height. This means I can fit a fermenter under the shelf in my cellar. This wouldn't be possible with a bubbler.

    Good basic airlock.

    Ok, bubbler better
    Review by Austinon 24/09/2013
Good product but it should be a "not so handy, airlock" I've always been using bubblers but since I've adopted my dads big brewing gear he used these ones 25 years ago, but they seem to blow there tops off, or lean at a side sometimes and air can get in from one side as it also spits water out more.... Bubbler all the way!!

The simple bung and airlock is the answer to good wine making.

I find the simple bunk and airlocks to be the answer to good wine

    Alright I suppose
    Review by Johnon 04/03/2013
These seem alright until you get a bubbler airlock and realise what you are missing. Mine came with a kit, and while it does the job reasonably, it has a tendency to blow its top (literally!) in the early stages of fermentation, and if you push the top down so it fits into the bottom tightly, nothing can flow through it and then it blows its top off explosively.
