    Good water heater
    Review by paulon 28/12/2017
This is a great product for heating water but due to the tap valve i find it not that practical as a sparge heater. I use 10mm silicone tube attached to the tap with a jubilee clip which does the job. But would prefer a better tap out let to connect pipe work.

    Keeping it clean
    Review by Timon 23/09/2017
I bought the sparge water heater to use alongside the grainfather. It really makes the process easier and smoother and helps keeping the place tidier. It's easy to use and clean and it seems to be fairly robust.

    Superb Sparge water heater
    Review by Peter Kon 02/06/2017
So simple but does what it's supposed to do. Cable length is perfect. Temp. setting is easy. Tap works great. Water level reading thingy is ideal. Max capacity has been more than enough for all the brews that I have done. The twist lid and top handle are just right. All in all a fantastic, no fuss, bit of kit.
If you need one and it is in your price budget then you won't go wrong with this.

    A must have
    Review by Scotton 17/12/2016
This makes sparging so much easier. You can get a good volume and a constant temperature for your sparge. Heats fairly quickly too.

    Graingucci Overload!
    Review by Matt Bon 12/10/2016
Had to change my name slightly for this so as not to appear to be spamming this review! I digress.............. A Practical, compact and efficient Sparge water heater. I found this worked extremely well and got up to temp quickly, easy to read graduations, a great lid that secures into place. The compact size meets my needs and means I can store it efficiently. The tap will accommodate 12.7mmm silicone hose if you wish, which I used to directly sparge into the GF. A Graincoat for this might be a good addition to aid thermal retention and therefore reduce any energy use when maintaining the heat. All in all a good piece of equipment that I am glad I invested in!!

Useful if you've got a Grainfather!
    Review by Matton 09/09/2016
This is a very useful addition to a Grainfather setup. It's just a tea urn, but it's vital for your sparge water heating needs. My first Grainfather brew was done heating the sparge water on the hob. That wasn't fun. My second brew used this sparge water heater and it was a lot easier!

    Good stuff!
    Review by Garyon 30/08/2016
This is great as a sparge water heater in conjunction with the Grainfather, and holds it's temperature well.
As a bonus I also set it to a decent near boil and used it for coffee/tea water when we had our little one's christening lately so multi-purpose!

Handy for heating up your spare water potentially saving you time and less messing about with loads of pots and pans on brew days

    Good Product

The heater is lightweight so can easily be moved when empty. The temperature control is quite accurate and stable. It does what it says on the tin!

    Perfect
    Review by Tonyon 17/05/2016
Used this a couple of times now and it is perfect for the task. Work out your sparge water requirement, add two litres to allow for when the water level gets under the tap point, set the temperature and switch it on - simple as that.

The gauge on the side usually shows higher than that that you need but if you allow for this with your previous calculation and run the tap until it stops, it will work out correctly.

I found that raising it about three inches above the worktop means that the tap then gets over the lip of the raised "basket" of the GrainFather so you can just pour the water in as required, keeping the sparge water level correct.

The remaining two litres in the bottom you can pour in as a top up if you have messed up your calculations, or you can use it for things like yeast hydration

    Wish I'd bought it earlier

    Very quick and painless
    Review by Deanon 01/04/2016
I included the heater in my order for the grainfather and I am so glad I did. Like other reviews I was having to mess around with pots and thermometers and it was a pain! The sparge water heater is so easy to use, measuring the water is simple with the sight glass and it maintains the set temperature perfectly. I do agree with Ross though in that the tap design could do with a tweak (even if it was just to allow for fitting a barb for a hose. The price is very reasonable as well as a burco boiler would cost over £100.

    Great addition!
    Review by Rosson 22/01/2016
Have done several brews with my grainfather now and tbh I think this sparge water heater is a fantastic bit of kit for ensuring your sparge water is dead on temp and stays there! It also holds just the right amount for most of my brews so it's just a case of filling it up and tur ing it on. My only tiny gripe with it is the tap, I would have liked to see a metal ball valve instead of the plastic one fitted but It does the job just fine as is :)

    better than faffing about!
    Review by Darylon 11/01/2016
Prior to this i was using a few big stock pots and the temp control. With this its a breeze! It also heats up really quickly and keeps your water warm. Also handy for getting your cleaning water ready.
