A well built and quality product
    Review by Chrison 27/08/2018
I normally use food safe plastic fermenters but have recently noticed that as I use them more and more they are getting harder to clean. Rather than buy new plastic fermenters and possibly wasting money, I decided to look into using stainless vessels and bought one of these to see what they are like. So far so good. Have brewed a single brew so far and it was very easy to access and clean thoroughly. With it being stainless, any reasonable quality cleaner whether it be a caustic or alkali type won't damage the vessel and I'll be putting about another 6 brews through it in the next 2 months or so and don't foresee any issues in this respect. Nice bit of kit and well made.

    Great product
    Review by Timon 07/09/2017
My frist brew is fermenting in the fermenter as I write this review. I am very pleased by the quality of the product so far.It is easy to clean and the handles on the side are very well built so I am sure these will last. I am looking forward to seeing how it holds up over time.

Great product that is well built
    Review by Derekon 12/06/2017
Having thought of getting one of these I decided to purchase one , looks very well made and have had my beer fermenting very nicely , the tap as others have said is a little big but I put a funnel in the top of the 5ltr mini kegs and fill them without any problems. They are a little expensive ,shopped around and found it on here for and average of 10 pounds cheaper than other sites. Well worth the money though and If you think of the money you save brewing your own beer then treat yourself.

    Good but tap not great
    Review by Scotton 17/12/2016
The fermenter itself is great. Well made and fairly good priced for stainless steal. Had not issues with it at all.

Only downside is that the tap is not great. It's really wide and doesn't fit any bottling connections as it's just too wide.

Good kit but a more universal tap would make this product much better

    Graingucci
    Review by Matton 11/10/2016
Bought this with a package deal with the Grainfather and Sparge water Heater. Got to say I am impressed, yes its not cheap, however there has been some good attention to detail. Inside finish is very good, Tap seems to work well and dismantles for cleaning. Lid is sturdy and seals very well. Bung and Airlock do the job. the Handles on the side are a great addition and are sturdy enough to handle moving the fermenter with beer in. The plastic base give it a look that would not look strange in your kitchen and also prevent scratching your Work surfaces or table there fore keeping the wife/partner off your back!!

Downsides, Tap could do with a tail for pipe attachment as per Micheals review, spare bung? (is that size hard to come by?

All in all I would reccommend this product, coupled with BrewUK's excellent customer service. 9.9/10

    Basic and expensive
    Review by Brenton 01/04/2016
Load of rubbish. Tat! don't wast your money on this over priced crap. You could get s plastic bucket for a tenner! If you want to spend ove £100 on a fermenter then spend a little bit more and got yourself a proper well designed fermenter like the SS Brewtech brewbucket or one of there chronical fermenters. Im not happy with this lump of over priced crap and I'll be contacting them for a refund of some sort

    Grainfather Fermenter
    Review by Michaelon 01/02/2016
I brew all grain with the 20L Speidel Braumeister (fantastic piece of kit), but used a plastic fermenter that wasn't the easiest to clean. I ordered the Grainfather s/s fermenter which arrived very quickly with BrewUK's usual excellent service.

The seamless construction make it easy to clean and measurements are stamped on the inside from 15 to 25 litres. The lid is fixed with 4 good clamps which have a plastic coating, so do not leave scratch marks. The bung and airlock are small and the airlock is a cheap plastic affair, but it does the job.

The only thing I didn't like was the tap. I transfer my brew from the fermenter to a bottling bucket and do this by means of a silicone tube that goes to the bottom of the bucket to avoid any undue splashing. The tapering shape of the tap does not allow a tube to be fitted. The tap itself seems to be an integral part of the equipment and therefore changing it would be troublesome.

That said, it's a vast improvement on the plastic predecessor and is recommended.

Best steel fermenter I've used yet.
    Review by Simboon 06/12/2015
A while ago I ordered a steel fermenter through Amazon and while it was ok there were a number of problems with it. The clamps on the lid were extremely stiff to the point you're hurting your fingers trying to undo them and worried you'll catch them when the clip finally pops off. Also even with all that the lid wasn't holding a decent seal.

No such problems with the grainfather!

Having invested in a grainfather system for mashing and boiling brews I thought I'd give the Grainfather fermenter a go. I'm glad I did as it's just an excellent piece of kit. The clamps are easy to use and do a great job of sealing the lid. Because they're also coated in a rubber/plastic they don't scratch or mark the metal (a nice touch).

Inside the stamped in measurements are a nice feature starting at 15l up to 25l with a good 1.5" to the rim from there.

The steel inside is seamless and oh so easy to clean, it really is a nice piece of kit.

The only downside is that once you start brewing with it, you start looking at the rest of your plastic buckets as valuable space taken up in your brewing cave that could be more steel fermenters!. As I write this review I'm ordering my 2nd Grainfather fermenter as I expect them to last me a very long time.

Perhaps the only next step up from this would be a Grainfather conical fermenter. Maybe in the future one might be available for sale but until then I can't recommend these steel fermenters any higher.

    Worth getting
    Review by Andyon 10/11/2015
Ordered and arrived very quickly. A good sturdy piece of kit which is currently in use and has performed well so far. Easy to clean and use with no problems.
Only downside is the size of the vent,,which although comes with a bung and airlock as advertised does not accept the sie of bung that holds a thermostatic heater. Had to enlarge this hole which is not the job you want to start doing when you've spent this amount of money. Overall a good investment which should last and produce numerous brews.
