    Good Value for Money
    Review by Muffleson 07/03/2011
I was given this kit for Christmas. Generally, I'm a kit "snob", prefering the more expensive kits, but gave this a go for the sake of family unity! I used spraymalt 50:50 with the sugar, just to beef it up a bit and also made it up to around 37 pints, not the 40 advertised. The SG was therefore a bit higher than you might get if you follow the instructions to the letter.

It was freezing in the garage, so this took a while to ferment out. After 10 days, I put it into a secondary fermentation vessel and added finings. 4 days later, I put it in the old pressure vessel, added the recommended amount of sugar and left it for 2 weeks.

At this stage, it was a bit rough, so I left it another 2 weeks. Not expecting much, I was then plesantly surprised! It is now drinking very well as a session ale.

Overall, it doesn't compare to the quality of the more expensive kits, but in these times of austerity, you could do a lot worse than look at this one if your budget doesn't stretch to the expensive kits. It is worth remembering the spray malt though.

    Simple to make, excellent outcome
    Review by Dazon 21/01/2011
This was my first attempt at homebrew and found the whole process to be easy,

the kit mentioned above took slightly longer than stated on the instruction to clear (21 days in a pressure keg after 8 days fermenting) but it could of been inexperience that caused this such as storage temperature but it was well worth waiting the extra week for,

I would definately recommend this to any beginner or regular brewer as i find i keep going back fo more "quality control" tests

    Great for the money
    Review by Jimon 05/08/2009
Made this a couple of time and really can't grumble at the price. Always produces a lovely pint although i would recommend using 500g of spray malt in place of 500g of sugar.
