Elderflower a bit overpowering for me
    Review by Martinon 25/04/2017
Another good kit from Festival. It did take longer to ferment than the stated 10 days, mine was fermenting for about 14 days at 23 degrees. I have brewed a few Festival kits so experience of past brews all fermented longer. I did not add the hops until day 10 instead of the stated 5 days. Also, I only added half the sachet of Elderflowers as there did seem rather a lot. The brew is now bottled and fully conditioned nice and clear.
I have to say over time and sampling the odd bottle over a period of 3 - 6 weeks once clear the Elderflower has become more dominant to the point where I find it a tad unpleasant for my taste. However, if you like Elderflower then I'm sure you will love it.

Awesome beer - but I messed it up
    Review by Markon 06/10/2016
I don't think I mixed the sugar properly when I was batch priming. some bottles were very fizzy, some were totally flat. The fizzy ones were probably the best thing I have ever brewed, but the flat ones were not very nice. Definite Elderflower flavour, but not overpowering. I liked it. So 5 star rating for this kit. 1 star rating for my brewing skills.

    Easy and excellent ale!
    Review by Andyon 06/07/2016
My first ever homebrew and it turned out really good. Made sure everything was sterilised and with no way of maintaining temperature control I was dreading what the result would be. The room the brew was in was around 15-18 degrees and it took 4 or 5 days extra to complete but I was amazed at the result! I had to try it straight away and it was very refreshing on a hot day (perfect summer ale). As the weeks go by it is improving, sadly it won't be many weeks until it all gone!
Second batch of Festival (Golden Stag)l is on the go at the moment.
Excellent value, easy to follow instructions and everything you need in the kit. Highly recommended especially for a newbie.

    My new favourite Festival kit
    Review by Martinon 27/03/2016
Like other Festival kits this includes the priming sugar and a hop filter bag to aid siphoning. This kit also comes with packets of hop pellets and of dried elderflowers for that additional floral flavour, the latter being added at the same time as the yeast. Starting gravity was 10.44 and after two days at 20-22 degrees it was merrily bubbling away and giving off a wonderful floral aroma. As instructed I added the hop pellets after 5 days but it was a further 9 days rather than the prescribed 5 before fermentation finished at a steady 10.09. The instructions advise 14 days for second fermentation and then another 14 to settle which worked a treat for me. The result is an outstanding top quality pale ale with light floral hop flavours. Much more sessionable than the often over bitter Festival brews. Very very drinkable.

    Easy, cheap and great
    Review by travison 24/01/2016
Like the perfect date, this is easy to brew, cheap as all you need is in the box and if you work out buying all the ingredients, it'll save you money. I brewed this four weeks ago and I intend to drink it at the first signs of summer. I had a little taste last night and it has changed beyond belief from the bottling sample, so I am hoping, like all Festival kits that this will improve again before drinking dime.
    Another winner from Festival.

    Nice fruity beer
    Review by Richardon 03/02/2015
I hesitate to leave a review as it was such a great beer I didn't want everyone to buy it all! Just barrelled my latest batch it really is a lovely beer bitterness and fruity reminds me of some of the craft beers. Next time its back in stock I will stock up!
