    Excellent dark brown ale!
    Review by Shaunon 05/08/2017
I made this a few months ago and it's been in a corny keg maturing until now. Hooked up to bar so draught.

I have to say it absolutely gorgeous! Dark brown in colour and this is definitely going to be made again

I'm working my way through the Festival ale kits and this is another great drink and especially for the coming autumn/winter nights!

Oh and having currently finished the first pint you can certainly feel the 'love' rushing around your system!!

This is a really nice beer with lots of body and good strength. Pleasant tasting as well.

    Cracking
    Review by Simonon 30/10/2016
It seems I'm gradually working my way all of the festival range. This beer was brewed in time for my wife's birthday party, but as most people drove I had it much to myself, not that I'm complaining...

Strong dark and full of flavour, just a really nice pint. Definitely coming back to this one.

    one of my standard brews
    Review by Richardon 01/02/2016
This is my third batch, what I call a dangerous beer, smooth, nice bitter finish doesn't taste too strong but boy you know when you've finished your first pint! Best to leave in the barrel a couple of months it really improves but always a lovely pint.

    Our 'House' ale
    Review by RobdeBearon 14/02/2014
Have brewed this one five times now and it has been excellent every time. Along with Woodfordes Nelson and Admirals Revenge I will always have a barrel of this ready to drink and one more barrel on the way.

    Excellent Ale
    Review by Davidon 29/10/2013
This brewed really easily. Simple enough instructions, but fantastic result. Strong ale, but not to the extent where you were tasting more alcohol than flavours. Dark and treacley with liquorice tones, I'm wishing i'd kept some for the coming winter, but it was too nice and I've drunk it all!

    Fantastic Kit
    Review by JustDaveCarteron 24/07/2013
This is only my second attempt at a home brew and from the moment I looked at the instructions I could tell that this was going to be a lot easier than the last attempt.

The instructions are very informative and easy to follow and the kit is labelled clearly.

After leaving the hops in for a couple of days longer than stated on the instructions (I was on holiday) I have just transferred it into a keg for second stage fermentation and already it tastes amazing. I'm planning on leaving it for 5 - 6 weeks now and can't wait to find out what the final taste is like.

Would recommend to any brewer, whether you are a beginner or just want a great tasting ale!

    Review by Garethon 02/06/2013
What a great kit! First one I've done from the festival range and certainly wasn't disappointed, real full bodied and with just the right amount of hop bitterness included, there's no point tweaking this brew as its perfect as it is! Have just ordered the landlords finest...can't wait to brew it!

A Very Dark and Pleasant Brew
    Review by Iainon 14/05/2013
I went for this kit because I really wanted to try something with dry hopping.

The kit is really well put together, good clear instructions and information.

Two weeks in the bottle and it is a really good ale, dark and full of flavor. Yeast compacts really tight in bottle.

Definitely would do this again. Turned out at about 5.9%

    Fab-u-lous!
    Review by Rumplestiltskinon 23/11/2012
Old Suffolk is one of the best beer kits I've brewed - fantastic full bodied with a a lovely malty taste and although quite strong very, very, very drinkable. Leaving to condition for a few more weeks if my willpower holds out.

    My 2nd Festival Kit
    Review by Bigbazzaon 29/10/2012
My second attempt at home brew and my second festival kit. The first one Father Hooks came out fantastic, but put that down to beginner's luck. The Old Suffolk Ale has only been in the barrel for a week, poured some off just to make sure the barrel was maintaining pressure :-), already the beer has an incredible taste and flavour. Going to be quite strong because I only make up with 20l of water, roll on Xmas when it has conditioned even more (if it lasts that long).... Not sure what to brew next though, maybe the Golden Stag with some hops of my choice......

    If Carlsberg did homebrew kits....
    Review by Heftyon 18/09/2012
Bought one of each of these new festival kits as a step up from the add suagr kits, and even whilst siphoning into the priming bucket it tasted fantastic!!!, tried a bottle after only 3 weeks and its even better, cant wait til Christmas when i intended to drink it, only hope my willpower can last, if Carlsberg did homebrew....
