    Very Nice Beer
    Review by Shaunon 26/07/2017
I've just started drinking this via corny Keg and Mini bar so draught and it's a very nice summer beer, like a cross between a heavy lager and IPA. The fruit smells when you first make it and then the light smell when you drink it are gorgeous and I'm definitely making this again.

    Nice summer ale
    Review by Chrison 01/11/2016
I also bought this anticipating a lager but it produced a very nice summer ale very similar to Ringwoods Boondoggle and will brew again with that in mind but still seeking a lager kit.

    My favourite kit so far
    Review by Markon 28/07/2016
I love this one. Nice and smooth, and no ill effects the following day. I'm still a brewing noob: I've done Youngs APA, and American IPA; Festival Golden Stag, and Summer Glory, and this Festival Pilsner is my favourite. Very easy to drink (too easy?) and very tasty.
Like others have mentioned it turned out darker than in the photos, and maybe less lager-like than I was expecting, but it is a very very tasty brew. Definitely recommended.

    An ok ale
    Review by Chrison 07/07/2016
So I made this thinking it would create a great summer lager. Hmmm. The colour is darker than in the photo, and the flavour is ok, very much like a summer ale or light ale, but definitely not a lager. I had tried a festival kit before and loved the dry hopping finish, but here I cannot tell it is there at all. The priming sugar is also not quite enough giving the beer a flatter mouthfeel than I would like. Not by a mile, but still enough to grumble.

A I disappointed? Yes, this kit hasn't met my expectations. However it's still a good enough drink to get through without grumbling, but I will stick to their purely Ale kits int he future.

    Good bitterness to this refresher!
    Review by Paulon 12/05/2016
I usually make extract kits and have only done a handful of ones from tins but this is so far the best of those I think. Not quite as satisfying as extract beers but for a quick process the results are really good! Clears well and ferments quickly - no need to keep cool during fermentation thanks to californian yeast and the hop pellets deliver a good punch that make this a very refreshing pilsner.

    Aromatic thirst quencher
    Review by Warwickon 04/06/2015
Having moved to all grain I don't often do the kits but I'm QUITE GLAD I DID THIS ONE. I have struggled with lager beers to get the crisp, dry finish associated with the style so I was a bit perturbed when I opened the kit to find that the yeast supplied was labelled 'ale yeast'. Nevertheless I fermented it using the kit yeast at 20 deg C for a couple of weeks (it was at an FG of 1010 after one but I always keep it in the brew fridge for a minimum of two to let the yeast clear up) I dry hopped it for the last 5 days after fermentation had stopped. I left it in the bottle for 4 weeks before cracking open the first one and I'm very happy with the results.

The sweetness associated with the ale fermentation has been offset by using quite a high level of bitterness in the LME so while you don't get a true crisp and dry lager finish you do get a close approximation and something certainly better than the lagers I've so far been able to produce using either extract recipes or all-grain.

The aroma is very distinct, definite floral/citrus/cantaloupe tones: New Zealand in in a glass.

    I like it, 5 stars.

Usual high standard from Festival, bottling sugar and dry-hop pellets included
