    A Great Porter
    Review by Christopheron 04/01/2016
The first porter I have made and took longer to ferment fully than I expected. The flavour is great though, a little sweetness and not too bitter - nice winter brew ! I will make this again for sure.

    Pretty good porter
    Review by Davidon 02/11/2015
Great kit; you get finishing hops and a straining bag for racking as with all festival kits. Mine took nearly two weeks to get to just over the target of 5.2%.
Sampled a few bottles early and found it a bit too licoricey. After 7 weeks the licorice has mellowed and it's a bit more balanced but still not a patch on Fuller's London Porter, my favourite porter.
Probably the best porter kit I've done but still looking for the perfect porter.

    Excellent
    Review by Davidon 21/05/2015
This requires a little more care and attention than some of the other kits but the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. You will need two fermenting buckets before you keg / bottle this. Excellent beer though, nice and dark, just how you would expect a porter. Remember to add the hops earlier / later than the instructions dependent upon how 'hoppy' you like the beer

    My best brew
    Review by Roryon 07/11/2013
This is my best brew , out of 17 ive done. Will be ordering more for sure. Brewing and priming sugar are in bags so no need to measure out, plus comes with a handy filter bag for bottling.

    More effort - no reward
    Review by Adamon 24/09/2013
I'm not a fan of hoppy beers and this is one of the hoppiest beers I've ever drank. Both my friends and I find a 1/2 pint fine but most can't handle a full pint due to the crazy amount of hops. It's suprisingly refreshing though, and can really quench a thirst. I would like to order more from this brand, but with nearly a full barrell of porter 3 months after brewing and the brewing process takes longer and requires more effort than other brands, I don't think I can justify it to myself.

    Review by Luffyon 13/08/2013
This was my first foray into home brewing - and now has given me the momentum to continue - I barrelled it, opened 6 weeks later at a bbq - got a fantastic reception from all my friends!

I have ordered another as this if definitely a keeper!!

    epic, best one yet.
    Review by andimoto on 14/05/2013
This kit is fantastic. Best beer i have done yet. And there has been a good few. Drinking mine after 6 weeks in the keg it is so full of body and flavour. One top notch porter.

Thought this kit was really good value so decided to try the pilgrims hope as well

    Very more-ish
    Review by paulon 23/02/2013
    Dark and delicious.
My most drinkable brew to date. As a previous reviewer already said, it wont be around long. Much too more-ish.

Will definitely buy this kit again.

If you like real beers then you will probably like this one. But if you like lagers, then you probably wont.

    You will not be disappointed!
    Review by Jameson 03/01/2013
Brewed this for Christmas and having barreled it I couldn't resist a little taste after two weeks which was surprisingly good. Now a month on probably the best beer I've ever made (20+). Look forward to bottling my next batch.

    Wonderfully complex
    Review by Alanon 26/08/2012
I've made over 20 different beers, from kit to all grain. This is easily the best kit beer I've ever made, and one of the best beers I've made full stop. It has a wonderfully deep complex taste, with new flavours appearing in your mouth for several seconds after the drinking - bitterness, creaminess, hints of chocolate and liquorice. And that's just after a week of bottling - unfortunately I wont find out how this ages because it wont be around long enough!
