    Not the best Festi kit
    Review by Meredithon 23/09/2015
I have tried a few of the Festival kits and generally rate them as among the very best premium kits however, this one didn't work out for me. I don't know whether something went wrong but I'm pretty careful with my prep so can only assume its the kit. The final brew had a soapy smell and the hop seemed too strong for the style of beer. Flavour improved with time but the aroma never quite seemed right

    Good hoppy bitter
    Review by Beemanon 25/06/2015
Prompt delivery of kit as usual from Brew UK .
Easy to follow instructions and everything needed included in kit.
Still a bit soon for the beer to completely mature but I am very pleased with the sample I have tried.

    Excellent, but requires patience

Takes a while to clear with the added hops, but worth the wait, if you have patience.

This just didn't do it for me. I love festival kits and have done golden stag numerous times, which is fantastic. But this just doesn't taste right. The flavours are as described, but it's not a particularly exciting drink, to earthy. Took an age to clear and the sediment waa very loose, which is carried into the drink when pouring from bottles.

Maybe it's my pallet, which based on the previous reviews maybe the case.

Either way I'll be giving this a miss in the future.

    Review by Gordsuton 17/03/2014
Although it's a bit too early to comment on the taste ( not ready yet ) it has been exciting & easy to get to the stage I' m at , looking forward to tasting the finished product .

    Bottled gold
    Review by Richon 12/03/2014
Brewed this up as a 'takeaway' beer (keg most but need one for others houses) and love Festival... First outing 6 weeks after brewing and has a big bitter hit but v. drinkable! Managed 9 bottles lol!! It's pale, with a good carbonation using the 100g supplied priming sugar, it will only get better with age. If you like a bitter pale ale you must try this!!! Definitley want to try it kegged!!

    Love it
    Review by Leeon 22/01/2014
This is the second time I have bought this kit because the family love it. In fact I have bought it this time for the girlfriends' step father as he loved it and wants to brew it.

    A top class ale.
    Review by Paulon 19/11/2013
I to brew beer back in the early 80's. What a lot of crap that was! Coming back to brewing its good to see how things have move on. I have tried a few beer kits but Im sold on Festival. Iv brewed and drunk most of their range, (not the porter) they are all really excellent beers. A lot better than a lot of beers you get in the pub. My favourites are their Stag Summer Ale, and Landlords Finest. I have brewed a barrel of Pilgims Hope for Christmas though, something a little heavier for the cold mid winter. If you want to try kit beers try the Festival range. You wont be disapponted! Now wheres my beer mug, Im sure the sun is below the yard arm..... some where in the world.

    Top Notch
    Review by Mickeytoonon 12/06/2013
5 stars isn't high enough a rating. This is the best brew I've made. It takes a little longer than other kits but, my god, is it worth the wait! I'll definitely brew this one again.

    Another cracker from Festival
    Review by JudeSunFloweron 29/05/2013
I was lucky to stumble across this after less than a year brewing - another cracker from Festival...
Any of these kits is highly recommended. Well worth the extra couple of pounds. You'd be pleased if your brought a bottle or two of this back from your local offie.
Quite dry and hoppy but full of flavours that don't disappoint.

    Exceptional kit!!
    Review by Legoman25on 10/04/2013
Brewed this kit a few months back and I have to say this is the best kit I have ever made!! I done this kit as I was led to believe it was a clone or very similar to Timothy Taylor landlord and what a kit!! It could even be better than the Timmy T! If you do like Timmy T you will be amazed by this kit as I was! The pack of hops you get with the kit give the beer such good aroma and flavour! You would not be disappointed and even though little more expensive than other kits out there you will completely understand why when you try this for the first time and its totally worth them extra few pounds!

    Great kit!
    Review by Jon 25/01/2013
Can't stop drinking this now!(been in th barrel 5 weeks) Took longer at every stage than the instructions stated but well worth the wait. Kit has everything you need to make a fantastic bitter and the instructions are easy to follow. Makes a lovely bitter with citrus and earthy taste, hoppy aroma and a creamy head that stays til the end of your pint. Will definately be trying another festival kit. Think Suffolk ale is next!

    superb kit
    Review by retrobrewon 11/12/2012
I`ve been brewing beer for over 20 years(errr..make that 30) and this is possibly the best kit beer i`ve ever tasted! Seriously it makes a great beer, packed with hop flavour, quite intense bitterness, lots of citrusy flavours going on in there and a good mouth feel to it, light in colour with a white head that lasts till the end. If you use a pressure barrel leave it at least 5 weeks to mature. Cheers!

    Good Kit
    Review by Paulon 13/11/2012
Having had the first few bottles of this after it has sat in my shed for the last month I would rate this as above average although not outstanding.

I brewed this after brewing Way to Amarillo so I can't make my mind up whether I was spoilt by the quality of extract brewing rather than this kit being just ok. I have a BruPak kit also maturing so will then be able to compare against another kit which may be a bit more like for like.

    Excellent Kit
    Review by Benon 08/11/2012
When you get past the excellent and attractive packaging this is a two can kit that also supplies you with hop pellets and priming sugar. In theory this is all something you could do yourself, but regardless, you're paying a little extra to get every thin you might need for a fantastic pint in a single kit.

I'm coming to the end of a keg of this, and it really is quite excellent. Lovely and smooth with a definite hoppy taste. It's slightly sweet and earthy and whether or not it'd be to everyone's taste I can't say, but I certainly enjoyed it and have to salute the kit supplied!

    Outstanding kit
    Review by Colinon 04/11/2012
Pulled a pint off the other day to see how progressing, and i cant leave it alone. Excellent pint with a creamy head right to the bottom of the glass. Just as it is described on the box and enjoyed making it. This is well worth the money. Cant wait to try all the other Festival kits. A pint i would be happy to buy in a pub.
