excellent kitI bought this deluxe kit on 29/06/13 (order no. 100082559!) and its sat in my garage unused until now. Well, I've dusted it off and (today) brewed a Thwaites best Mild, from a John Palmer book. The equipment was faultless and the wort tasted lovely at its various stages. I didn't get it quite right (its my first all grain brew), but that was my fault - e.g. my sparge water wasn't hot enough. But I hope that for a first attempt, I'll get a very drinkable beer. Oh I should say, that the sparge arm didn't work (didn't rotate - which I think others here have complained of) so not quite faultless - but after a bit of googling, I tried the multi-small-holes-drilled-in-a-plastic-washing-up-bowl solution and it seemed to work a treat!

A good starter kit with everything you need to make a good wortThis is an excellent set for the beginner to all-grain brewing. I have owned this for over a year and it has given me great service. After one year I brewed a Stout that came #2 in a national competition. And it is still going strong.
You will be able to make 5Gallon/23litre batches of beer with this equipment. In addition you will need a fermentation bin and airlock. Also something to put the brew in at the end like a pressure barrel or bottles (Actually, I would recommend trying a kit beer starter kit first from brewuk - then you will get an idea of the fermentation process and also end up with a bin, airlock and pressure barrel so that when you buy this grain kit you will have all the equipment you need.)
It also comes with Greg Hughes's book on brewing for the beginning which is well written and will start you off. There are many recipes in this book - pretty much every style is covered so you will be able to find a recipe for your favourite beer style.
The Brupaks boiler will need to be descaled regularly. I did have one issue where it stopped boiling but this was just because scale had covered the element - there is an easy fix for this: after use, clean the boiler and use boil up a solution of citric acid (or white vinegar) to descale.
Also you will get good after-sales support - I've had a couple of questions and the brewuk online chat folk answered them very quickly.
