    Stalwart yeast
    Review by Stevenon 10/11/2017
I tend to use Nottingham in stouts and darker beers (it can be used for all kinds) - works really well for me, fast acting and reliable.

Love this yeast. Always reliable, large fermentation temperature range, drops like a stone. Always worth having a pack or two in the brew cupboard!

Arrived quickly, had n in the FV in no time and away it went - but it's taken a couple of weeks in the coolness of my shed to finish. A replacement for a Coopers kit yeast. Smelling nice and clean.

This was the first time of using this yeast in a Coopers IPA. It went off like a rocket. GOOD stuff. Will use again.

I use this instead of the supplied yeast, never had a problem fermenting out, works well over different temperature ranges.

    Rock solid
    Review by Geoff Pon 06/07/2015
Having used this yeast once, I never want to try another one. It settles out so firmly in the bottle I can pour out every drop of the clear supernatant.

    Workhorse!
    Review by Tomon 03/06/2015
Ah, the beloved Nottingham Yeast. This is a great all-rounder yeast that's versatile enough to do many different beer styles. Due to it's nature, you can push this easy to around 14˚c for pseudo lager, up to 24˚C for a more fruity, ester laden ale or ferment in nice and clean at 18˚c.

It's cheap, quick and very easy to use.

    Great!
    Review by nicklawmusicon 22/02/2014
Using this as my yeast in my second brew, a Coopers IPA, rather than the yeast that comes with the kit. Great yeast to use. Best thing about it is the temperature range at which it ferements (14-21c), meaning I'm not having to check the temperature all the time as I brew in my cellar, which is cold.

Only drawback, not with the yeast itself, but the instructions on the package are fairly limited. They suggest you go to a web address, but the address doesn't have instructions.

Having said that, Northern Brewers have done a great video on YouTube about re-hydrating yeast which was most helpful.

    Epic
    Review by Robon 05/02/2014
Splendid yeast. Minimal lag time, whether you rehydrate it or not. Well floculating, giving a clear, crisp tasting brew. The low ester production really let's the hops shine through, and avoids that "home brewed" aftertaste. This is THE ale yeast of choice.

This yeast loves beer almost as much as me!
    Review by Domon 09/06/2013
Used this yeast for the first time yesterday. Very simple to rehydrate and cracks on at a rapid pace! So much so, that my 25 ltr fermenting bin, with it's 22 ltrs of wort in, proved to be to small!
I woke this morning to find that yeast head had not only filled the 8cm or so of air gap between the top of the wort and the lid (about 8 ltrs in volume), but it had also breached the airlock!
Some hasty remedial work was carried out and the fermenting wort is now in something larger, with the yeast still happily working away, seemingly unaffected by it's Steve McQueen effort.

Will definitely be using again, just in a 33ltr fermenter!

    Good quality
    Review by Danon 05/04/2013
Getting great results with this yeast - seems to be a top working yeast. Slightly more expensive than the standard typical Muntons Gold type, but better flavour in the final beer.

    Great Yeast.
    Review by jvick35on 21/04/2012
I have used it a number of times and results always good. It packs down really tightly in the bottle so there is very little wastage when pouring.

Very easy to make and pleasant flavour.
    Review by Donaldon 07/03/2012
This is an almost failsafe method for beermaking. This particular brew is pleasant and fragrant. 40+ bottles waiting for my undivided attention.

Ideal for pretty much any ale
    Review by Tomon 27/02/2012
Its low flavour profile makes it a perfect yeast for highly hopped ales. It's fast acting and can even handle high levels of alcohol - I've used it to make a 9% Xmas ale. What more could you ask for?

    Perfect yeast for room temperature
    Review by Austinon 20/01/2012
I've used this yeast so many times for ales. It has a very low flavour profile and is very happy at room temperature and carries on working down to about 14C without stalling so its ideal for those cooler months.

When I re-pitched from one batch to the next it finished in under 48hrs - it doesn't hang around.

Good flocculation (clears quickly forms a hard clump in the bottom of bottles).
