Want to add great flavor and body to your beer? add this
Review by JabeerIni home breweron 06/04/2016
Adds a lovely toffee flavor to your beer. It also gives it a dark color (depending on the proportion) and contributes to the body. I'm using this for every dark ale, bitter, stout and porter I brew.

    Valuable Ingredient
    Review by Chrison 29/10/2015
This crystal malt is very reliable. I ran out of crystal malt for my previous brew and I just added more pale malt. It produced an amber beer which was OK but without much depth of flavour. I normally add 250g of crystal malt to 2 Kg pale malt for a 4% brew for colour and flavour. The crystal malt is first malted, then undergoes a kind of mashing process to convert the malt to sugars and is then kilned at higher temperatures to produce the complex grainy flavours. A valuable ingredient.

    ok
    Review by Ronon 06/05/2013
i have noticed on other websites the cyrystal malt is graded, light , dark etc. I was expecting the malt to be a little darker

Response from BrewUK - Hi Ron, we do 4 colour grades of crystal malt, 60 EBC, 100 EBC, 135EBC, 200 EBC and 400 EBC which are all available on the website. This one is the standard 135EBC. If you want a darker malt then perhaps go for the 200 EBC next time.
