Details:

Chill your wort as professional breweries do with this ultra compact and very handy plate heat exchanger. With this device, consisting of a number of stainless steel plates, you can cool hot wort to 20°C in barely 15 minutes using plain gravity (no extra pump needed).

You don’t disturbe the precipitation of the hot trub and because of the quick cooling you’re avoiding contaminations of your wort. The cooler is easy to use and to clean, the water-use is limited. Comes with male 3/4" Bsp connections and 12mm plastic barb connectors. Just use female 3/4" hoselock connectors to connect water side to garden hose.

This is definitely a device that can not be missed by the amateur brewer who aims to achieve the highest quality.

Cools 30-40 Litres in approx 10-15 Mins.

Easily the best bit of brewing kit I own
    Review by acmpon 23/03/2014
I have used this today, and it is fantastic. It has allowed me to use much less water to cool the wort than my immersion chiller, and took a lot less time too.

I have quick connects from the boiler to the wort input, and the cold water supply. And I used the supplied hose connectors for both output sides.

It was really easy to balance the output temp, just by putting my thermometer probe in the out flow of the wort, then small changes to the wort flow or cold water flow, kept things at the right temperature.

If I had a complaint it would be the price, this item is a considered purchase, and I've been thinking about it for a while. But I am glad that I have it.

I would recommend this type of chiller to all brewers.

    Great Chiller
    Review by moorsdon 20/05/2013
Used this for the first time yesterday and really impressed with the ease of use and cooling performance of this chiller. It also comes with all the hose fittings which is a bonus. I've used a Brupaks immersion type previously and whilst it did work, it took a lot longer than this plate chiller!

I set this up using gravity (approx 0.5m head) and the flow was more than enough. It cooled 23 ltrs of wort in around 10-15 mins, but this was with the boiler tap turned down to restrict the flow, so with a bit more experimenting with it, I'm sure it could cool this quantity of wort more quickly.

I use a stainless steel over-braid (Tap connector style) for a hop filter and this appeared to filter enough out for use with this chiller, as when I back flushed it, no debris was evident! It is really important to have a good filter though as I would imagine the small channels could block easily if a lot of rubbish got through!

Would be 5 Stars if it was a little cheaper!
