Often described as the Ultimate Homebrew Keg. These kegs are normally used by pubs and restuarants to serve non-alcoholic fizzy drinks. The beer is fully fermented and left to clear in a secondary fermenter. Co2 is then injected back into the beer to make it fizzy rather than naturally through secondary fermentation in the barrel. They are also made of stainless steel and therefore very hard wearing. There are advantages to these barrels, namely they are easier to fit in the fridge, they can be transported as there is no sediment and they can be fitted with bar style taps for home bars. Capacity is less than a standard barrel at 4 Gallons (approx) so you may need to bottle the balance of a 5 gallon brew. Fitted with Ball Lock connectors.

Much better than bottling and easy to clean, only problem is finding uk supplier of keg lube for the seals. But I hear alternatives can be used I'm just a stickler for doing things the pro way

    It's beautiful ... I love it
    Review by Brianon 23/07/2016
This is my first corny keg and it's a lovely piece of equipment which will last a long time. It's very robust and very (for the moment) shiny !!!

Gave it a clean with TSP and then have given it a sanitise with saniclean (Being stainless don't use chlorine based cleaners).

Cleaning and sanitising the keg is easier with CO2 cylinder as you can "push" the cleaner through the out rod. It also makes the whole process more fun (see youtube vids)

I've got my first corny keg batch resting in the garage and can't wait to try it out

    Excellent quality
    Review by Kevinon 07/09/2015
I bought one of these after purchasing a couple of second hand coca-cola ones. These are much better. they are also a slightly smaller diameter and taller than the others so I could get more of them in my keezer. I wish i'd seen these first.

    improves your beer!
    Review by Kristianon 08/06/2015
I say it will improve your beer, because kegging my beer has shown me what my beer should taste like, without oxygen spoiling it over time.

Before kegging in one of these I found that after 2 weeks in a bottle or mini keg, that I'd start to taste a slight 'cardboard' flavour as the oxygen in the head space gets into the beer. also hop flavour would slowly decline (as I expected). the beer comes out much fresher from these kegs - just make sure you PURGE your keg with CO2 fully to remove all oyxgen. just bung a little pressure on and pull the safety valve 3 or 4 times to push out the air, leaving inert co2 protecting your beer.

also I made a daft mistake - when pressure carbing your beer, you connect the gas line to the beer OUT line, as you want the gas to bubble through the beer.

for best carbonation, don't follow the instructions that come with it... instead of carbonating at high pressure over 24 hours, give it 4-5 days at lower pressure, and you'll get smaller bubbles and less foaming when you serve. at 8c temp in my customised fridge i keep pressure at about 12-13psi, for 4-5 days, and get perfect results.

    Serious kit
    Review by Simonon 17/02/2015
This is my fourth keg that I've bought from brewuk and as usual it's a fantastic bit of kit. Once you've tried a keg you won't look back. I still bottle my hefe-weizen as that benefits from bottle conditioning but other than that you can't go wrong with these kegs.

Once you've got a conditioned beer just syphon into the keg and within a day or two you're ready to go... no yeasty overtones just great beer.

If you've been debating whether to get into kegging I say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

    Great service, great prouduct
    Review by Jameson 31/12/2013
Would strongly recommend a Cornelius keg setup to anyone who will be making a reasonable number of brews though the year. Expensive initial cost but is soon out weighed after suffering pressure barrel headaches. Delivered in perfect condition and very quickly. Thankyou Brewuk.

Stop thinking about kegging and start kegging!
    Review by Davidon 30/09/2013
Like alot of homebrewers ive progressed from the novelty of bottling your first batch, to the mild annoyance of cleaning and sterilising all those bottles to absolutely bloody loathing bottling day!

I decided to skip the king keg / pressure barrel route and opted to go straight for the cornie kegs. After searching online homebrew stores these cornies were the cheapest i came across and are brand new! unlike alot you'll find on the likes of ebay and don't cost that much more either!

BrewUK delivers on all fronts again! Delivery, price, quality and service. You'll not find a better supplier, don't be disappointed, use BrewUK!
