    Lovely Lovely Lovely !!
    Review by Markon 11/10/2015
This is one of my regular brews. Can't fault it. Always ferments out with in a week and ready to drink once barrelled 2 weeks after. Even better when used with a Beer Enhancer. Great taste and colour.

    Really great ale
    Review by Ianon 01/09/2015
I made this beer to take to a music festival so that the volunteers for the charity I volunteer for could enjoy a brew at the end of the day. It was a popular choice and my hope of being able to take some home was dashed!
Never miss a chance to promote my charity, so check us out at www.tfsrcymru.org.uk
Keep up the good work guys!

    Good

Mixed reviews on this one. If your using a pre-made kit for ale then this is a great choice. Obviously not for a seasoned brewer but a great benchmark for beginners.

    Excellent Beginners Ale
    Review by Gordonon 01/02/2013
After a long absense from home brewing tried this kit and simply brewed with 1kg of Brewing Sugar.

Put in the barrel and matured for 4 weeks before the first taste and I was very impressed with the taste, colour & clarity. Also had an excellent head and is an easy drinking ale.
In the barrel for 7 weeks now and it has certainly matured and has better taste and body.

Very impressed with this Coopers Kit and so simple to do!
Coopers Dark Ale & also a Stout kit barrelled 2 weeks ago and looking forward to trying them also.

    not so nice as before
    Review by Elaineon 13/12/2012
We have brewed this ale previously, seems to have gone down a little in quality, not so tasty......less depth, and a little too much bitter aftertaste, will see if it improves with age.

    Perfect for a beginner!
    Review by Captain Spitfireon 25/11/2012
This was my first brew, got it with my starter kit. Essentially, no complaints....

Instructions very clear, used with muntons beer kit enhancer, fermented for 7 days, bottled into 1L PET bottles, left in the bottle for another 7 days.

It tastes good, nothing special, just a good ale, pretty much like the Abbot Ale they serve in the Weatherspoons chain.

Experimenting with a mini-keg in my current brew, if its successfull, i'll probably brew this again and keg it in small batches for mates comming over etc.

    Session beer
    Review by Paulon 13/10/2012
A cracking session beer. Going down very well.
Have just bought another as I'm running out.
Could be more hoppy for my taste, but it's nicer than the Coopers IPA.

    Very Very bland
    Review by Gunnerholicon 04/10/2012
I'm not really sure how this kit qualifies as 'Real Ale' I doubt CAMRA would classify it as such anyway. Dont get me wrong, this is a quite drinkable beer but very average and not much going on in the way of hop profile (those damn PoR hops again Coopers? Sigh). I did add the Brupak's Ale Enhancer Pack to add a bit more hop and grain depth but I cant say I tasted any disernible difference.

Used in a Cutomise your Coopers recipe
    Review by Ian_Don 27/09/2012
    MIGHTYMALT DOPPLEBOCK

This is a strong version of Bock, which the Germans insist it should have at least 7.5% alcohol. It has heaps of flavour and hop aroma.

1 can of Coopers Bitter or Ale

2 kg Light Dry Malt Extract

    500g Glucose or Dextrose

    200g Cracked Crystal Malt

    50g Cracked Black Malt

    100g Cracked Chocolate Malt

    20g Hersbrucker Hop Pellets

    1. Mix the cracked grains with about 1 litre of water and bring to the boil.

    2. Boil gently for 20 minutes then add the hop pellets and turn the heat off at the same time. Let

the hot mixture stand for about 10 minutes.

    3. Pour the hot mixture through a fine strainer into the fermenter. Gently pour some hot water through

the collected grain to rinse all the goodness into the fermenter.

    4. Add the other ingredients to the fermenter plus some hot water if necessary and mix thoroughly.

    5. Add cold water up to the 23 litre mark and stir well.

    6. When the temperature is below 30 deg.C. add the yeast and make your beer the usual way.

4 days in FV - 6.37 % ABV showing on spreadsheet - can't wait to try it

    Top Notch Stuff
    Review by Richardon 12/04/2012
Brewed this with 500g brewing sugar and 500g LDM with some Northern Brewer Hops added. Turned into a cracking little drop after 4-6 weeks in the bottle and had dropped clear in about a week. A great addition to the Coopers range

    quite drinkable
    Review by stella110on 28/03/2012
This is a nice drinkable beer on a hot day, very refreshing, although this is our 2nd attempt, the first, we pressure barrelled was better, this we bottled, and it didn't clear as well.! Still remains a liitle cloudy.
