    Nice light larger
    Review by Jonathanon 21/07/2016
I went on to Coopers website and decided to try the Aztec Gold version - 500g Light DME. It came out ok but a little weak in both alcohol and taste. I put that down to only adding 500g Light DME - I should have added some dextrose to boast the alcohol content as it ended up at 1.5% Doh!

Also I know a lot of people only make the volume up to 20 litres and not 23 litres - this should make it a bit tastier. Will try this next time.

    Light lager beer
    Review by Rokstaon 24/09/2015
OK, so it isn't Corona, but give it some time conditioning (mone has had 5-6 months in the outdoor cellar) and its an easy drinking brew. Not much flavour, but it improves with time.

And the end of the day, a one can kit with a part lager yeast has done a damm good job of making a pale beer at ale temps

I added some extra hops and used the brew enhancer to improve this beer, good easy drinking beer for the summer!

    No flavour at all
    Review by Nothingnesson 23/12/2013
I brewed this with 500g Malt Extract, making the Aztec Gold recipe from the Coopers website. While there are no bad flavours to be found here, this beer is so lacking of any flavour it feels like I have watered down my beer with half water! Maybe this would be OK on a very hot summer day, but personally, I will never brew this ever again.

Great taste but a little watery
    Review by Oliveron 20/08/2013
I made this kit with Cooper's Brew enhancer 2 - the gravity was a little lower than I expected and the end product is a little watery but other than that the beer tastes great and it's the first larger I've done.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes a nice light beer and I will definitely be making it again.

    ¡Ay, caramba!
Review by The Lion Breweron 10/07/2013
This was the 2nd kit that I've brewed. The first was Coopers Australian Lager brewed with Coopers Brew Enhancer 1. The finished beer was okay, if a little insipid.
So done things a little different with this kit. Used Muntons Beer Kit Enhancer and bottled spring water (£1 for 8 litres at my local Farmfoods) and fermented at a lower temperature for longer.
Bottled in a mixture of 330ml glass (one carbonation drop) and 500ml PET (two carbonation drops) bottles.
Tried my first bottles 3 weeks later and was very, very pleased with the results. The 330s were great, but 500s with that extra carbonation were fantastic.
After 8 bottles, I made the pledge - never to buy shop bought Cerveza ever again!

    Very Good
    Review by Chrison 26/05/2013
This was a very good beer.

I found it had a strong green-apple flavour for the first few weeks, but I aged it for around 2-3 months and it tasted fantastic. Finished my last bottle after about 7 months (found one hiding!) and it was a very nice.

I used Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 and the Coopers carbonation drops in the bottle. (i found 1.5 drops per 500ml bottle was the most appropriate carbonation for me)

    Too Popular!!!
    Review by Leeon 14/04/2013
Made a batch of this ended up with an ABV of about 4.4% tasted good straight out of the fermenter but after a couple of weeks bottled in the warm box they were superb. Unfortunately I allowed my friends to try them and they drank me dry that night, they're currently waiting for me to do more of it!

    dangerously drinkable
    Review by rooster'edon 27/02/2013
I made this up to the 40 pints using 500g brewing sugar and 500g munitions light hopped spray malt. A light Moorish lager with a hippy bitter tang, enhanced with a slice of lime. I enjoyed guzzling this whilst eating bowls of red hot chilli in the summer. Well worth a go!

    Our every other brew 2
    Review by Bruce's Breweryon 09/02/2013
Okay so we tried brewing sugar the last time we made this and, no, it didn't have edge that making it with granulated sugar has, everyone has different tastes i suppose. Might gives James idea a go though next time. Nice.

    Good but use Beer enhance
    Review by Jameson 03/09/2012
Using sugar with this kit makes it a little.. weak and boring!

Brewed to 20L and using LME instead makes the brew a lot nicer! with a slice of lime, lovely when its sunny

    very refreshing
    Review by Elaineon 01/09/2012
Brewed very well, although slower than the dark ale we usually make. We used gran sugar, which gave us a finished lager which was a little sweet, but if left longer, sure it'd improve,(drunk as soon as poss)

    Our every other brew
    Review by Bruce's Breweryon 25/08/2012
The wife and I have been using this brew kit as an 'every other' brew for a year or so now. When making it up we just use granulated sugar and when we bottle it's left for at least two weeks then moved to the fridge for a week before drinking. The taste is very acceptable, if slightly on the sweet side. It's never lasted more that 5 weeks from bottling before being drunk so not sure if it improves with age! We would recommend it as a nice light summer lager. It does go well with a wedge of lime too, a la Sol (though recently we can't be bothered to bottle in to 330ml bottles!).

    Good product
    Review by Roberton 12/05/2012
This I have found is best after six weeks; as other reviews have stated keep it around 20c for at least two weeks and you can't go wrong; I tried 1 kg Demarera sugar plus 500g of white granulated and I have no complaints at all.

    Review by woblylegson 03/09/2011
not a bad drink at all. i short brewed this kit to 30 pints instead of 40 because i like a stronger drink. finished vol was 6.8%. was drinkable after two weeks in the bottle but is a much better drink after 6 weeks. one i will be doing again for sure.

    Candy?
    Review by Chrison 27/01/2010
I made this beer for a friend's party, and after two weeks maturing it tasted OK. I would say a pretty middle of the road larger. I did have one bottle left over though, and after 2 months the taste had much improved, allot smoother with a taste of maple candy (I used light spray malt instead of sugar). There was absolutely no bitter after taste and was very pleasant. I would try this again, but would definitely recommend the long maturing process just to make it taste like a good quality beer and not a middle of the road thing.

This is my first attempt at home brew. Very easy to brew ready for bottling in 7 days. primed in bottles for 2 days in house then moved to the shed for a further 7 days. the mrs asked me to open a bottle to try, so we did and 7 bottles later she was running round the garden naked.will definatley try this one again. BARGAIN!!!!!!!
  • tricky to get right
    Review by alan McDonaldon 21/04/2009
First time I ever made this it wasn't great which was really dissapointing as it was meant to be nostalgic of a brill hol last year. It needs a long time on the secondary fermentation and i mean ages about 4-5 weeks.Keep it warm while you do this. Then chill it right down.
