Been a customer of Brew UK for a couple of years now ,their service is excellent and their prices are better than anyone else.Cellar 7 is a great brand that produces a very nice tasting wine that my wife loves and if my wife is happy I'm happy.

    Review by Debbieon 12/12/2016
First time I've tried Cellar 7 Chardonnay, really easy, took slightly longer than 7 days as I couldn't keep it to temperature but tried it last night and it tastes fab. Would definitely buy this one again.

I have been buying Cellar 7-30 bottle 7 day wines for many years. Our family and friends are always
calling in for one or two drinks. It look like I will have to start making a lot more.
    Excellent Service.

    Update on previous review
    Review by kevinon 08/03/2016
I'm now on my 4th batch of this delicious white wine. I add an extra 333grams of brewing sugar (333g so that a 1Kg bag will do 3 brews) & 25g of French Medium Oak Chips for that little bit more depth of flavour. Without the added sugar the wine is just a little bit like drinking pop, & 500g made it too strong with a thick head the next morning!! Highly recommended & at around a £1 a bottle a bargain compared to shop bought wine.

    Superb tasting wine
    Review by Paulon 23/02/2016
I can't say enough about the cellar 7 wine kits. They are easy to do and deliver great results every time. This is the second time I've done the Chardonnay and it's as good as ever. The kits tend to need an extra couple of days if you want it to be completely clear, which I have learnt after doing around 6 of these kits in total. When I've served these wines at family events along side shop bought bottles the cellar 7 wines are always the first to go.

Cellar 7 Chardonnay great value wine kit
    Review by kevinon 11/01/2016
I bought this for my first attempt at wine making, & I was not disappointed.
I left it to ferment for a full 7 days rather than the 5 it states in the instruction to ensure fermentation was complete. I would recommend spending £10 on a degasser as spending a few hours stirring the bucket every 10 mins does get a bit tiresome.
I then followed the instructions for adding the stabiliser & finings, which took another 4 days to clear instead of the 2 days stated in the instructions. I then used a vinbright filter kit, coarse pad then premium pad, to get a very clear & bright white wine. The only downside was that I was a bit wasteful during the process so only ended up with 26 bottles.
2 weeks after starting the kit my wife is sitting watching the soaps enjoying a very nice glass of Chardonnay & asking me when I'm going to start the next batch. Praise indeed for a great wine that costs a little over £1 a bottle.

    Cellar 7 Chardonnay
    Review by Der Braumeister!on 02/04/2015
Have been making an average of at least one kit a month for a couple of years now (primarily for consumption by my landlord!) and despite some variation (as with any grape) it has remained very popular, with comments such as "I paid £21 in a top hotel for a bottle of Chardonnay that was nowhere near as good". Best results have been achieved by keeping fermentation temperature to 22C or below; giving extra time for the process of fermenting (10-14 days), fining and "secondary fermentation" (7-10 days), and "conditioning" (a month at least - 2 is good). Using 2 fermenting bins and 3 Vinotainers I can just keep ahead of demand!

Good quaffing Chardonnay if you don't rush it!
    Review by Brightonon 29/12/2014
Basic relaxant of my landlord who fortunately is into "artesan products", so I can make beer too! He is a red-wine man (as am I) but if the essential rules of sterilization are folowed (for the wine, not the people!) and it is allowed a couple of weeks at least to mature, it is good! I find it helps to make the kit into 22L rather than 21L - a matter of personal taste but it seems to then be smoother. A batch doesn't last any longer though......

    Very good value wine
    Review by Andrewon 27/01/2014
The Chardonnay was beautifully clear at the end of the process. I was given some very useful advice by Brew UK having asked them how to back flavour the wine in order to increase fruitiness - add elderflower cordial. I found that 1/2 teaspoon added to 250ml worked best.

this is the first time i`ve made this wine and i am more than happy with it .easy instructions no sugar so it was just a matter of straight into the bucket and away to go.it also cleared in one day so ready to drink.i`ve tried it and its quite acceptible to drink but im going to leave it for a couple of weeks as per instructions and try it again thats if i can leave it alone for that long.

    Good Chardonnay
    Review by Davidon 17/08/2013
1st attempt - added extra 500gm ordinary sugar - probaly more next time as initial S.G. was still rather low. After 3-4 wks maturation: very reasonable Chardonnay - bright, good colour, typical Chardonay nose and taste. Very rewarding wine for minimal cost and work. And it does impress others.

Have now made a few batches of the cellar 7 white wines which I think are excellent and great value for money. They are definitely much better than the reds which I was very disappointed with.

    usual high standard
    Review by sparkyon 19/03/2013
Another batch of cellar 7 chardonay in the bucket, put it on last saturday, fermentation slowed down to almost stop today (tuesday) give it another 24hrs and should be ready to stop and clear tomorrow, and be ready for drinking friday evening. It doesn't get much easier than that. If everything is as per usual it will be as good as any mid price supermarket wine for a fraction of the cost, and the longer it stays in the bottle the better it gets

    Excellent
    Review by Tinon 03/01/2013
Really nice. most shop Chardonnay is oak casked and that gives a strong flavour (that I don't like). This kit produces a very nice wine.

Incidentaly if you use the concentrate supplied with a champagne yeast you get a very nice bottle of fizz.

    Great Kit
    Review by Markon 11/11/2011
The Cellar 7 kits are great. This is the first time I have done the chardonnay, Previously I have tried the merlot with great results.
Anyway, like the people in the previous review I used brewing sugar in the mix. I had about 400g of brewing sugar left. And after emptying the can into the bucket I added this to the mix by disolving it in warm water first. I then followed the rest of the instructions.
This fermented for six days, then transferred to another bucket,. Left to settle for another day before adding the stabliser. Followed the rest of the instructions regarding finnings. This took a couple of days to clear. The result is 30 bottles of lovely dry white wine at 13 %. This will certainly improve with age and there is no chemical aftertaste that you sometimes get with other kits.
Can't wait to try the other Cellar 7 kits now.

OK but dissapointed overall and won't be buying this kit again
    Review by Mikeeon 14/04/2011
This was my first attempt at home brew, so i followed all the instructions to the letter and am sure that i didn't do anything wrong. First you don't get 30 bottles, 21 litres = 28 bottles, less 1 for syphoning/bottling makes 27 at best! Took 10 days to bottling, not 7 and despite the wine clearing very well to a good golden colour, the odour was chemically and the flavour just of cheap white wine even after a month didn't really improve much. I have put this primarily down to the lack of oak chips in the kit, i've never have a good unoaked chardonnay from the supermarket so why should this be any better?! Will strive on but not with this kit :)

Great Wine kit with a few additions added.
Review by Chris and Beckyon 23/02/2011
Been making this kit for quite a while now and my wife enjoys it very much, we have made a few tweaks to the strength which the kit handles very well, so for those that are interested we have included what we do and the process we use.
At stage one we add the grape juice and then top up the fermenter to 18 litres of (23-24C), we then in a 3ltr jug add 1 litre of (23-24C) water and we then add 1kg Brewing & Winemaking Sugar to the jug and mix until dissolved, this is then added to the fermenter and is finished off by adding a final 2 litres of water at the right temperature to get the final temperature to around (23-24C). This is the mixed well and then we take a gravity reading hopefully you should get a reading of about 1.098 S.G at around 24C then follow the rest of the written instructions.
We then leave it for about 10 days or until it gets to a F.G of about (0.988-0.986) then move to the next stage on the instructions.
This will give you a wine that tastes great and at a strength of between 14%-14.9%.
    Enjoy.
