    Great full bodied flavour.
    Review by Philpon 28/09/2015
This kit produces a very passable wine with good full body flavour. Another winner from the California Connoisseur range.

    I love these kits
    Review by Danielon 25/07/2015
Very simple kit to follow and great result as always. I think best to wait approx. 2 weeks to drink after bottling although drinkable straightaway.

Worth paying a little more for!
    Review by Edon 09/02/2015
I haven't conducted an extensive survey, but the ones I have tried left me dissatisfied. That is until I changed to California Connoisseur Cabernet, good, but didn't last long enough to mature properly. The merlot is better earlier, what more could you want.
  • Really nice tasting full bodied wine.

What more can I say, I will definitely be buying this again.

    Excellent Merlot
    Review by Yorkshiremanon 22/01/2014
About a year ago I tentatively decided to start having go at brewing my own wine, Merlot being favourite of mine because of the soft tannins I chose this one.

My first 6 bottle kit went well and even the little taster I had left over when I bottled the first lot was very acceptable to the palate. After a couple of months I decided to start tasting and was amazed at how smooth this wine was, I have paid £6/7 a bottle for wines that have not tasted this good.

Encouraged by this I set off another 6 bottle kit to try again just in case the first batch was a fluke, this was eventually bottled and I use the last bottle at Christmas.

I have now got a 30 bottle kit which has been racked about 2 months now and will be testing one this weekend to see how it is progressing and then saving the rest for what hopefully will be a wonderful summer of wine drinking :)

    Same again
    Review by Aged bikeron 29/05/2013
Another batch nearly gone and just about to start fermenting another one. I only get about 27 or 28 bottles from the kits as I do not top up when syphoning from one fermenter to another to keep the body in the wine.

    Good first wine
    Review by Wills Wobbleron 28/05/2013
Bought this wine and although it took 30 days to make, it is well worth it. At approx £1.50 a bottle this could easily pass as a £5-6 bottle.
My wife drinks it and shes pretty fussy. Would of got 5*s but thought I'd better make something else first.

    An excellent wine

Have made this wine 4 or 5 times now and every one of them meets my expectations. Full bodied and a good taste. Just about to order another batch.

    Another one bites the dust
    Review by Aged bikeron 01/05/2012
This is the second of this wine I have made. Top marks for this one as well. Plenty of flavour. Good to drink straight away and gets better with age, if it lasts that long. Don't be tempted to top up after siphoning out as some of the body will be lost.

    Taste and drinkability
    Review by Aged bikeron 22/03/2012
An excellent wine. My first attempt at wine making and definitely not my last. Of equal taste and strength of at least £5 bottles in supermarkets. Had it professionaly tested and it came out at 12.5%.
    Top marks.

    Very good
    Review by Jameson 17/10/2011
I've just bottled this and it's very good already. I'm looking forward to seeing how it improves over the coming weeks.

It's very smooth with an almost buttery feel to it and lots of red berry flavours coming through.

    Fruity
    Review by Sarah lakeson 22/07/2009
This wine taste so smooth but fruity it's excellent, just as the description says it's packed full of blackberry flavoursIt was easy to drink from day 1, and did improve with age every day

    accurate
    Review by lily tullon 29/05/2009
the description is actually very accurate-it was smooth to drink and had good flavours.Fairly easy to make, harder than beer though with all the transference between bins.Would make again.

I have noticed tho that some of the red wine kits can be weak on aroma, taste very good but lack that distinct red wine smell!
