California Connoisseur Malbec 30 bottle

Malbec is a purple grape variety used in making red wine. The grapes tend to have an inky dark color and robust tannins, and are known as one of the six grapes allowed in the blend of red Bordeaux wine.
The Malbec grape is a thin-skinned grape and needs more sun and heat than either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot to mature.
It ripens mid-season and can bring very deep color, ample tannin, and a particular plum-like flavor component to add complexity to claret blends. The wines are rich, dark and juicy.

    Deep flavour
    Review by Jeffon 31/07/2017
This is my favourite - like the other California Connoisseur's I have tried, it finishes beautifully, clear and nice body. The oak is not too strong and as it is summer I add bit more water when making it to make it lighter - even refrigerate it for during the day.

    Fantastic wine kit
    Review by davidon 23/07/2017
There's not much I can say about this kit other than its fantastic. For the money it's absolutely amazing, I've bought wine from the shop which isn't as good as this.
It has a lovely fruitful flavour with a nice oak finish. The colour and body are spot on.
I will definitely be doing this one again

Smooth lush and fruity, notes of plum and blackberry. Try it on wine snobs.

    Elderflower twist
    Review by Danielon 23/02/2016
We have tried this one a few times now and we prefer to replace the oak shavings with dried elderflowers. It just gives a more subtle flavour than the oak which can be overpowering. Very more-ish!

    So far, so good.
    Review by Alanon 09/12/2015
When ordering red wine in a restaurant, I nearly always choose Argentinian Malbec. I've sampled several labels from the Mendoza region and they've all been excellent. The same restaurants rarely include Californian wines in their wine lists, so I was hesitant to try this kit, but I needn't have worried. It's only a few weeks old now but already quite drinkable. Whether it will match the Argentinian product in a year's time remains to be seen. So far, so good.

Lovely colour and lovely taste. I added a handful of dried elderberries prior to fermentation which enhances the aroma. Very nice.
