    Solomon Grundy platinum better
    Review by edon 08/01/2017
Not a bad white, but needs to be laid down a while to really develop. but S.G. Platinum Chardonay is cheaper and to me a slightly better flavoured wine. Then there is my gripe about those horrible bags and them not being recyclable.

Also makes a fantastic "Sauternes" dessert wine
    Review by Benon 16/10/2015
    To make, ignore provided instructions.

Obtain a gravity of about 1140 and ferment down to about 1040 (around 3 gal total volume). Use provided oak. I also added a few ripe mashed bananas and a few handfuls of raisens. Fermented at 16-17 degrees. Also used included finings and eventually sorbate to stop fermentation at 1040. Left alone for about 10 months. Forgot to rack it until it came to bottling.

Now bottled. 12 months later, it tastes bloody fantastic!

Good quality easy to make and great flavour.
    Review by Philon 28/09/2015
I've used this kit 3 or 4 times now and never fail to produce a very passable wine with good flavour and clarity. Serve chilled.

As a minimalist home brewer who is just happy to follow the instructions the California Connoisseur range have never failed me. Great product. Easy to use and even easier on the tongue.

    Easy drinking, quality white wine
    Review by Andy Gon 06/10/2013
A really good and consistent white. Worth paying a bit extra for the taste and quality the Connoisseur provides. I always add glycerine prior to bottling this wine, it seems to give it a smoother and mellower taste.

    Outstanding
    Review by Danielon 19/11/2012
I've used my fair share of wine kits from various manufacturers over time but have always opted for California Connisseur over all others. Their instructions are simple to understand, even for the most notice of winemakers. It gives you the information/the option to produce wine with little preservatives for the more like minded out there, and tells you what to do should you wish to age your wine for longer than 6 months, something i've not found on other brands.
I generally find the results of red wine kits to be of a much higher standard than white wine kits, however this one, if left to age, is an exception to that.
    Highly recommended!

The California Conniosseur range is so easy to make, always consistent and at the right price.
    Review by Johnon 10/05/2012
I have been making wine from the Connoisseur range for several years
and give a few bottles away . the response is always the same --- "I'll have another one of those if you've got one going". The Chardonnay/Semillon is my favorite white.
