    An excellent everyday drinking wine
    Review by Anneon 26/08/2016
A smooth well rounded wine, Perhaps lacking a little in body compared to the more expensive kits but nevertheless easily matches or surpasses £5+ supermarket offerings and at under £2 a bottle you can't go wrong! It does benefit hugely from keeping 4 weeks and still improves every week after that. Another point to note is that we use locally (Scottish) bottled spring water and it does make a significant difference in our case as our tap water is not the best.

    First wine kit
    Review by Rosson 01/08/2016
This was my first wine kit. The instructions are easy to follow and the wine finished fermenting after about 4 weeks. On trying the wine straight after bottling it tasted a bit watery but after 5 months stored away it now tastes great.

Easy to make and great taste

I made this four times and never a duff brew. Switched to another just for a break, but cannot complain. Great dry taste and full bodied.

Good - but needs a few months.
    Review by graemoon 12/02/2014
I found a bottle lurking at the back of a cupboard with a date on. "Blimey! This ain't half bad!" thinks I upon quaffing. No dreaded bubblegum kit taste anymore, and quite full-bodied and getting a bit of complexity. Imagining it was a 10l Kenridge of some description. I traced back through my purchase history and found it to be this 7.5l Cab Merlot, which I probably necked within three months and thought it was a bit so-so. Over-sweet, and forgettable. The lesson must be to leave even these lower mid-range kits for at least six months before touching, after which time they become very drinkable.

    Great wine
    Review by Davidon 19/06/2012
This is my third wine brew purchase. The first was one of the cheapest, because I was just unsure about home brew and did it as an experiment. That actually turned out OK, tasted fine, but lacked body and depth. So the second purchase was the California Connoisseur, which I guess is middle weight price. That was extra money well spent, the taste was very good and importantly I gained that body and depth. The wine certainly improved with age, that is my last bottles were about 4 months old.

I sail a yacht to France to buy cheap wine from a warehouse, this brew is just as good as the French wine and saves me a trip !!

    Still good
    Review by Raymondon 06/05/2012
Have made this kit twice now.Excellent taste, as good as the £5 a bottle jobs for a fraction of the price. A very good value and product. I'll drink to that.

    Gets better
    Review by Stevieon 02/07/2009
I've made a few white wines before so thought I would make a red for a change. Not bad but definately improves with age. Give it about 2 months in the bottle and the flavour improves dramatically. Will definately being doing another one one these.
