Ok - flavour a bit too powerful
    Review by Jameson 05/01/2018
It brewed well - I got 6% in the end. Feedback from family and friends was generally mixed, however for me the flavour was a bit too strong. The cinnamon/ginger was very much 'in your face' on the first sip. You get used to it after a couple more sips though. This was after letting it sit in a keg for 2 months as well. I probably won't get it again.

    Three months later. . .
    Review by Martinon 04/11/2015
OK. further to my September review I would like to quickly add that, as hoped, the flavour has now improved some what. I have passed some bottles around my usual contacts and also got their feedback which was mixed. One said it was very nice, another reported that it was very interesting and they liked it and the third had poured it down the sink. I can now say that after three months it still has all the body, clarity and good qualities it had originally, but now the flavour is quite good. There are cinnamon, ginger and (strangely) lime flavours. I'm still not a big fan but at least I won't be throwing the rest away and am looking forward to seeing how it improves over the next three months. I'll be back. . . .

    christmas treat
    Review by Gemmaon 26/10/2015
im now true fan of bulldog brand after this ! i was so surprised when i got this kit it actually smelled of what it said on the packaging and we all know you get some kits and it wow cant believe it taste like and other kits and its oooo no thats not right ?!?. BUT This i was taken back by its taste not just of the cinnamon and ginger but i could taste christmas cake. i did blind taste with family and friends and most of them said christmas cake some said mince pies and the odd ones that said "have you put a bun in my beer its weird not hating it ! its just weird" . this ale as the colour of christmas cake its lovely caramel amber pours well very lush. these so easy and simple kit they are must for beginners and expects

Brews well but not sure about the flavour
    Review by Martinon 15/09/2015
Brewed this kit as normal and everything went well. Bottled and waited a couple of weeks. First try and the body looks good with a reasonable head and strong aroma of ginger and spices. The main problem for me though was the flavour. More remeniscent of root beer, sarsaparilla or medicated like germolene. This was my 65th brew to date and the worst flavour yet. It's a shame because in every other respect its good (body, strength of taste and strength of aroma etc. Tried last night after about a month in the bottle and while it is slightly smoother the flavour is getting worse. Hopefully another few months will improve it so will leave in the garage till xmas.
