    Great Taste
    Review by Walton 20/02/2017
This is my first time with Diablo, but I have done other Brewferm products. The Diablo is a lovely mix. Used Candi sugar like I do with all Brewferm products. Simple and easy to make.

Update: With Brown Candi this time :(
    Review by the_idleron 24/09/2015
I left a review fro back in May 2014 ("Unbelievable for a home brew lovely, lovely, lovely") and I mentioned that I might try with brown candi sugar instead of white.

Well I did.....and even after 11 months in the bottle I'm so not enjoying it as much :(

Brown sugary tastes, that I do not like very much...definitely regretting my decision and will go back to white candi (or just plain brewing sugar?)

It was so gorgeous and miss it so :( Hope that helps some - I'm more of malty beer lover and do not like over hopped styles.

As I said last time, my last batch with white candi was unbelievable for a home brew - lovely, lovely, lovely!!

    Quality Begian Beer
    Review by Alastairon 25/06/2015
Brewed this over a year ago. Although it was ready after 8 weeks or so, I decided to leave it as others had recommeded. I am very glad I did. I tried one bottle after 12 weeks (quality control!) and then waited until a year had passed. AT 12 weeks it was good, after a year it was superb, to the extent that my step father gets me to brew this for him on a regular basis. If only I could get him to stop drinking it so quickly, then he too could taste the difference. Some things just aren't meant to be...

Such potential (even after just two weeks in the bottle)
    Review by jaeprowseon 10/05/2015
After bottling a couple of weeks ago I decided to have a test tasting before moving the bottles somewhere warm. I must say that the Diabolo was drinkable even at such a young age. Malt, caramel, fruit and spices in the flavour and although it was a bit sweet, unsurprisingly, this is going to be an absolute cracker in a few months. Dead easy to brew, too. Highly recommended.

Unbelievable for a home brew, lovely, lovely, lovely
    Review by the_idleron 28/05/2014
Made exactly as per instructions with white candi sugar as supplied by brewUk. Fermented at constant 22c and drinking 6 weeks after bottle conditioning at 21c.

Absolutely lovely. I like this more than the Leffe, it's got a bit more depth with caramel and spice tones. Very smooth and one to sip gently and enjoy.

Will definitely be making this one again but maybe with brown candi sugar next time.

Look forward to to some cold winter evenings!

Stunning strong, golden Belgian style beer
Review by Bio-chemical engineer of Wroughtonon 18/01/2014
Wow - this was good. Just mourning the last bottle of the batch that went down the hatch last night. It had been bottled in September. Tried first bottle 4 weeks after bottling - tasted good but was flat. Four weeks later it tasted better with a slight head. Three months in I did a back to back blind tasting with Duvel and this was preferred by four out of five tasters.
Made it up with soft brown sugar and it gave a lovely caramel flavour. Bottled as per instruction and left to wait. Cleared really well and doesn't go hazy when chilled. This was my second ever home brew batch and was dead simple. I bought myself a small Belgian beer glass and it looks and tastes the part. You've got to give it a go.

    Excellent brew
    Review by Cookieon 13/10/2013
I have to say this turned out to be an amazing brew. Left in the bottles for 3 months before opening the first one and was well worth the wait. A excellent brew with very light bubbles to give a very smooth perry like feel

    Bonne De Douch!!
    Review by Jamieon 16/08/2013
This is a spot on Belgian type beer... if you like Leffe then is for you. its amazingly tasty & very potent!! I love strong beer so i made this thinking it would be just slightly stronger & a bit week tasting...Wrong!!! Very full flavoured and mine is around 9%
I added 500g more sugar than stated and this brewed out really quick!
Im going to brew this again as soon as i have a free barrel. Things i would do differnt next time.. I would buy two cans & double up. That would mean an extra kilo of sugar for me.. and because this came out so mind bending after 2 pints i would increase the water quantity!!!
    Hope this helps

    Good kit from a can
    Review by Yogberton 01/11/2012
Just cracked open the Diabolo and I'm pleased to say that it was worth the wait!
Made this on 7th August 2012 using 500g white sugar as per instructions on the tin. The final alcohol was around 8% so just as predicted.
It was hard waiting two and a half months to try this and I'm sure this one will continue to mature in the bottle.
As far as flavour goes I'd say it is not far off the extract kits that I've made which was a bonus as the price per litre is similar but it is quicker to make. It did need to mature whereas the extract kits are ready as soon as they're clear.
Overall a good beer that does what it says on the tin!

    I love this beer
    Review by Neilon 13/06/2012
Brewferm have become my default Belgian brew. Diablo just edges it against Triple but either are very good. Diablo produces a very pleasing, and very Belgian, taste of good strength. I find I get an OG of 1070ish and a FG of 1020ish which calculates to 6.7% ABV. I'm not sure if the ABV rises much when it's in the bottle. Speaking of which, most reviews say to condition this for months. I can only last about 4 - 6 weeks before diving in and I find the results excellent. Yes, leaving it longer does see the beer improve but I'm all for the drinking. I've just ordered some more, but I'll be doing a double batch this time because my wife has discovered how good Diablo is, particularly well chilled. The kits aren't the cheapest and you still need to add sugar, I use a dark spray malt, my costs come out at around the 80p per pint mark. I feel this is good value beacuse the results are of the quality of commercial Belgian brews that retail at £2+ for 330ml.

Fantastic Fire Water - Highly Recommended
    Review by Vanderoon 27/12/2011
I bought this brew a little apprehensively, seduced by the potential strength rather than how the beer itself might taste. I followed the instructions and brewed using Demerera brown sugar. Six weeks after bottling, I cracked one open & was astonished how tasty this brew was (let alone powerful). A fantastic mature toffee depth, smooth & surprisingly tasty. My faily and I were all very impressed by Diabolo & polished it off at Christmas. I'll definitely buy more of this one. Don't be put off by the name or label. It's delicious, string & well worth a go!
