Details:

With this special joint it is possible to insert a Springer Filter in a Braumeister BM20 without modifying your Braumeister and without jam the inner basket.

Thanks to this joint, beyond having an optimal filtration of the rough particles that slip away from the basket, you will have the advantage of extract ALL the wort.

The faucet’s exit height leads 4,8 litres to avoid the leak. This is only possible by tilt the vat (the tilting, by the way, will cause the rough particles to mix again, frustrating the deposit).

Thanks to the shape of the special connection ALL the wort will be swallowed up without tilting the vat.

The special connection is completely made of stainless stell AISI316 and the article also include the top which parts are made of stainless steel A2

The following photo is relative to all the pieces that compose the joint, spare O-ring included

The shape of this joint and the fact that the top can be removed, thanks to a pipe cleaner, makes the cleaning of the interior very easy.

All the gaskets are certified for food (red O-ring and top’s gasket included) so they won’t release noxious substances and they will resist up to 200 °C (set with quick peaks of 250 °C)

Not suitable for the new plus version.

Works very well. I'd been using a muslin bag to filter the wort before, along with the Speidel hop guard, but that was extremely slow. The springer filter is very quick in comparison. It filters well, and the syphoning effect means more of the wort gets used. Pretty easy to clean too. Impressive.

Superb item-far superior to the Speidel hop guard!

It requires a long tube, but it works pretty well. Do a good whirlpool before you start and the performance is even better. Be aware that this will add another 10-15Min to you brew time as it will flow slower - bit worth the wait.......

    works well, cleans up well
    Review by Krispy on 03/01/2017
Simple idea, but works really well.

push the o-ring end FIRMLY into the hole which leads to the tap, and then route the 'spring' section around the outside of the heating element - it's just the right size to sit under the element.. don't run it inside as you won't fit the malt pipe in! (my first mistake).

on draining I use probably 75cm of tubing to my fermentor.. it needs the syphon suction to pull the cooled wort up from the bottom of the BM. I didn't use much leaf hop, but did have 200g of hop pellets in there. The wort deffinately drained more slowly - but came out the clearest I've ever had (I used the official hop filter device previous). Just make sure you drain the first couple of litres into a sterilised jug and pour back in to let the filter bed do its thing.

Had to keep jiggling the drainage tube to keep a syphon effect going, but doing so deffo helped me get an extra couple of litres out of the BM. just took twice as long as it used to. almost zero trub on a drain four days later, just settled out yeast.

    Fantastic
    Review by Chrison 29/07/2016
This is an essential for the BM and in my opinion the best BM hop strainer around - genius.
No more tipping and allows you to 'free boil' hops for better isomerisation. First couple of litres were a little turbid, clear as a bell after those but they went back in to get filtered again. The trick for good filtering is a long hose on the outlet tap as it all works via syphoning, the longer the hose the better the suck! Boiled over 100gms of leaf hops and no debris, just crystal clear wort and an extra 4lts to boot. Once the wort level get to the spring it stops so only about 1tr in the bottom left over... did I say no more tipping..!! Fantastic bit of kit.

    Brilliant

This is the perfect solution to extracting the 5 litres of wort that lives below the level of the tap on the BM20. Well made, simple to put together and works perfectly.
