Saisons as a beer style have always tended to be a style that fosters experimentation, especially in the US. This beer combines a traditional Belgian yeast that has accentuated spicy, peppery and fruity estery yet dry character with the best of New Zealand hops and American hopping techniques.

This is a cutting edge beer style that is growing in popularity in the UK and the US. We’ve packed into this beer two hops from New Zealand, Pacific Jade and Motueka characterised by their heavily fruity, spicy lime, lemon zest and black pepper characteristics that work amazingly well with the unique saison yeasts spicy and peppery character. Dry hopping with these hops means that the hop character is super fresh and bright lending a great drinkability to this already refreshing beer.

Our Saison pours a lovely gold with a fluffy white head, an amazing aroma of spicy limes, Belgian esters and soft fruit character explode from the glass. On the palate the body is biscuity and dry with a lovely crisp acidity that cradles the spicy notes to perfection. At a healthy abv this beer is still extremely drinkable belying its strength, the perfect hoppy yet drinkable blend of styles in a glass.

See - Golden with a lovely creamy fluffy head
Aroma - Belgian spicy esters together with citrus limes.
Taste - Dry crisp acidity cradled with delicious spicy notes

Of all the extract kits I've brewed - this is the only one with questionable results
    Review by Chrison 15/01/2017
I followed the instructions exactly - including the advice to push the fermentation temp to the low 30's. It went off like a rocket with foam blocking the air lock and flowing out of the fv. The taste is .....unusual. A salty, yeasty taste that overpowers everything else - this is after 7 weeks in the bottle. slightly cloudy and a sour yeasty taste - I'm not a fan. Perhaps it was a mistake in the brewing but I will not do this one again

    Full of flavour
    Review by Timon 04/01/2017
This was a bit of an ambitious second stab at the brewing lark for me, as it required the purchase of a belt heater. But happily paid off, as the results were delicious. I fermented for two weeks at 28-30 degs, producing an FG of 1.000 and ABV of 5.9%. It then spent a good month in the cold loft before I dared to taste, but I was overwhelmed by the result. Has a note of sourness and grapefruity qualities, but keeps things in check with a big Belgian head and fluffy-sweet finish.

Racked off into bottles today and couldn't resist a flat pint! Outstanding all ready. Tastes so nice and will be very hard to leave alone for the recommended amount of time. Definetly doing this one again.

    wow
    Review by nealon 14/06/2016
good quality kit this one, you'll need to leave a fair bit of headroom in your fv for this brew as the krausen the saison yeast builds is huge, went straight to a blow off tube as I expected some good activity and even that struggled to cope! fermented in the brewfridge at 28deg and the yeast got the og of 1.056 down to 1.001, dry hopped the supplied pellets for 3 days when the fg was reached, although I did use a muslin bag in an effort to keep the sediment down, and bottled with the supplied priming sugar. when I do this kit again I'll stick it in a secondary to clear it a little.
the taste is packed with flavour from the hops and the yeast, good grapefruit notes go well with the hops, and it doesn't feel like a 7% beer either, lovely and fresh, well carbed and cold this isn't going to take me long to get through as it is wonderful !

    Fantastic
    Review by Larry Legendon 23/05/2015
I used a warming belt to keep warm in winter during first fermentation and it went off like a rocket! I seem to have a bit of sediment in each of the bottles so only pour after resting and leave a little in the bottle. However, It is absolutely glorious and by far my best effort to date. I will be brewing this again. FANTASTIC.
