Yeast storage in glycerin
Anyone tried storing yeast in glycerin in the freezer?
I have a great mead yeast from brewlabs and I'd like to store some but it may be 6 months before I get to make the next batch.
I was thinking 50% glycerin, 25% water and 25% yeast from the FV
(Oh, and 8% mathematical wizardry)

Damned if I know tony,
had a wee look through wiki and the only thing that stood out was -
Like ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, glycerol dissolved in water disrupts the hydrogen bonding between water molecules such that the mixture cannot form a stable crystal structure unless the temperature is significantly lowered. The minimum freezing point temperature is at about -36 °F / -37.8 °C corresponding to 60-70 % glycerol in water.[11]
Looks like it wouldnt freeze at standard freezer temp, dunno if thats a good thing for you or not?!?!?!?!

I have no idea to be honest. Liquid yeasts can't be frozen but not sure about the slants from Brewlabs. Aren't they about £3 anyhow so why not just buy some more when you need it?
