Wrong Temperature!
Hi Everyone
After making my first beer kit (Wherry) last year, which turned out miles better than I could have hoped, I made a wine kit for the missus for Xmas (Cal Con Rose). This too turned out superbly well. I have recently bough the Coopers Australian Lager to have a go at that and think I may have made a complete mess of it.
When I was adding the water, I was distracted, so ended up putting in more warm water than I should have done. Temperature said 27 c, which the kit reckons is in range, so I added the yeast and put it under airlock. I looked back at the FV 10 minutes later (how impatient?!) to note that the stick on thermometer was saying 32c!! I lobbed in some ice and closed it up, with the temperature coming back to 27c inside the next 10 mins.
Will this have totally ruined the whole process and is there any remedial action I can take?
Cheers.

Sorry, forgot to say that I have made this using Muntons beer enhancer.
Cheers.

Its a little high but I think it should be ok. Keep an eye on it over the next day and if there are no signs / hydrometer has not dropped then pitch another yeast. I remember "cooking" a wherry in my brewfridge by mistake, I think the temp was over 30c but it still fermented out ok, though it was slightly weird tasting!

Thanks, Nath.
I'll take a look in the morning and get another reading.
