Well, I drew Greece in the sweepstake at work. My colleague drew Ghana..

Anyone making a special brew for the special occasion?

Well I finally succumbed and bought a Magnums Pear Cider, a Coopers Australian Lager and 2KG of brewing sugar. That should get us through the qualifiers at least..

As you see I started this homebrew malarky at the start of this year and as you can probably tell I am well and truly hooked

I do promise that I will give AG a go one day but it may be some time yet....

Don't wait too long, it really isn't that difficult and there are lots of great people here who can help and are usually nearby :o)

Don't let it phase you, the only big consideration is the equipment and once you have that and you are well prepared with fresh ingredients and something like BeerSmith to sort your details out - all will go well.

Hooked .. yes indeed, welcome aboard :o) Good choice with the brews, you'll have to get them on right away though!

Indeed, cost of the equipment is the barrier. I guess I have spent close to £100 on all my equipment so far...

Are you becoming as creatively devious as I am when relating the purchases to the missus?

I have a 50ltr stainless tun being delivered next week. I'm sitting on the bank statement like a mother hen!

Rafa's gone. I am in mourning. It's the end of the Reds as we know them.

On the subject of World cup, once again Ireland North or South has no invested interest, but as long as Th**rry H*nry with his cheating ways exits in disgrace I'll be mildly contented.

Planning: Marstons Pedigree or London Pride clone
Conditioning (Bottles): Sam Adams Boston Lager Clone
Drinking (Bottles): Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone
Drinking (King Keg): McMullen's Country Best Bitter

I know its gone pretty much off topic but I made my boiler and it would cost pennys to convery a cool box. I reckon the whole lot can be made for £90 tops.

To keep on topic - Yay football.

I had Ivory Coast in my work sweep. Boo.

I work for an American firm, so was really getting behind Ghana last night. I remember them winning alright, but the rest of the evening is a bit of a haze. My wife allowed me out into the big bad world last night, where between the hours of 6pm and 2am I survived on a diet of Guinness, Warstiener and bottles of Peroni. The only thing I have to show for it today is a stinking head and this worrying need to never be more than 5 metres away from a lavatory.

Planning: Marstons Pedigree or London Pride clone
Conditioning (Bottles): Sam Adams Boston Lager Clone
Drinking (Bottles): Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone
