User has not uploaded an avatarWhat's growing on my wine?

1 year ago | JustStarting (Member)

Humm. So my current Cal Con wine kit (Merlot - finished secondary fermentation - waiting for me to do the next step) has some white speckles on top. It looks like something is growing.

Is this yeast? Something more sinister? Should I be worried?

I sterilised everything, but I guess there is always a possibility some bug got in and is growing?

Any advise?

Thanks,

Neil

Tastes like tractor fuel ..... so perfectly normal for this stage

A bit of a Google tells me that it should all be OK. The next stage (sulphates) will kill off anything minor growing.

But I've just noticed that the demi-john has a crack and about half has seemped out today

Somebody must be trying to tell me something about this particular kit!

    Neil.
