gregWadworths Brewery

2 years ago | Greg (Admin)

Afternoon,

Did anyone see Wadworths Brewery on country file last night. They still deliver the local pubs by horse drawn carrage and also have one of only 4 coopers on site making the old wooden barrels. They also have a on site hand sign painting team to paint all the signs for the pubs.

Great to see a brewery keeping up old traditions which are probably not that cost effective for them any more.

For those reasons alone mine will be a 6x next time I see it even though its not my favourite beer!!

Planning:Maybe a lager.
Fermenting:
Conditioning:Pale with Styrians
Drinking:Cascade Pale Ale, Summer Lightning

I'm with you on that one, wish I could do more to support them than drinking beer ... although it's not a bad way :o)

I caught the end of country file last night, nice to see some beer on the tv!

Beer will get you through the times of no money better than money will get you through the times of no beer

Definately. In fact Country File seem to feature it quite a bit. They had Warminster Maltings on there a few weeks ago. There was also a big feature on cider making on a program I watched yesterday morning but can't remember which one it was. They had sheppys on there and was really interesting.

    Planning:Maybe a lager.

On the tour you get to see the drays, horses (which are massive), cooper and sign makers.
As well as all the open fermenters, mash tuns, old coppers, new boilers and grain mill etc.
They had sacks of hops that would keep me in home brew for a good few years.

Maybe for people on the forum who want to meet we should do a "day out" brewery tour? quite a number around here!
