StarkieTingly Lips?

1 year ago | Starkie (Member)

Hi Guys,

Seriously not a joke post, I've just had a bottle of my Coopers Ginger beer. It's been in the bottle 2 weeks and even though it's meant to go another week according to the can I couldn't resists a test.

It smells amazing, tastes pretty good but half way down the glass it starts to tingle my lips? Is this normal? a result of drinking to early? I dont really mind myslef but anyone I serve a bottle to is going to be put off or think I've mucked up.

Cheers

Planning - first AG brew
In the Barrel - Golden Ale (woodfords)
In the Fermenter - Elderflower wine
Drinking - Nothing home made

Strange. Very strange indeed, I have no idea what it could be mate. Ive tried googleing it and it don't seem to be beer related so I'd say give it a week and see what happens, If not try it on another person and see if you get the same reaction.

    Conditionin'/Drinkin' - OPA Pale
    Conditionin' - LEB Pale
    Conditionin' - Thwaits Nutty Black
    Plannin' - A user upper!

Never experienced that either, so sorry. Its probably the ginger but I would imagine it will fade with time.

    Planning:Maybe a lager.

    Drinking:Cascade Pale Ale, Summer Lightning

Not to worry, cheers for having a think any how. I'll leave it another week as advised on the can and re-check. Its odd because its practically perfect to drink. Its still quite cloudy though on closer inspection. Patatience is a virtue.

Yeah, patience, the one thing us brewers always lack when it comes to beer. I know I do!

Ginger does have a bit of a kick so it could just need to mellow a little.Rub some raw ginger on your lips and see if it has the same effect but don't post any pictures!

Hmmm .. I thought I'd stumbled into a porn forum by mistake, had to give a sneaky glance over my shoulder in case the missus was watching.

Tingly lips...? I'm sure I know her.... [shockicon]
