nath812Thinking of an All Grain open day

1 year ago | Nath (Moderator)

Hey peeps,

I don't know how many of ya live round these parts but I thought it would be a great idea to get a load of people round and do a "how to all grain" basics day. We could pick a recipe together and go through the whole process (while supping some homebrew - naturally ) Then I could bottle some and wang it through the post to all who came, saw and kicked ass!

Whaddya all think?

Conditionin'/Drinkin' - OPA Pale
Conditionin' - LEB Pale
Conditionin' - Thwaits Nutty Black
Plannin' - A user upper!

I'm up for it. I think we should make something momentous and really special. Perhaps some kind of Belguim High Gravity Beer or a Red Beer - just something different which you will be happy having just a few bottles of.

    Or a black lager.

    Planning:Maybe a lager.
    Fermenting:
    Conditioning:Pale with Styrians
    Drinking:Cascade Pale Ale, Summer Lightning

It might be an idea to take a few videos to post up so the more remotely-located members of the forum can feel like we were there too Always good to see how other people do the various brewing stages as well.

    That's provided you're not all too camera-shy

Planning: Marstons Pedigree or London Pride clone
Conditioning (Bottles): Sam Adams Boston Lager Clone
Drinking (Bottles): Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone
Drinking (King Keg): McMullen's Country Best Bitter

We could stream it. Everyone could then see how perfectly it all starts then dwindles as I get more drunk! You never know it may be a sequal to cloverfield if it gets really messy!

    Conditionin' - LEB Pale
    Conditionin' - Thwaits Nutty Black

    Where are "these parts" Nath?

    How about a fresh beer?
Using this years malt harvest (surely it's just in) and still wet wild hops?

    Wadworth do something like this:
