Them Brewdog Boys again....
So with the Royal Wedding only a week away (not that i am excited about it). Just thought i'd share this one with you.
Them Brewdog boys are at it again. This time i've bought a bottle too although purely as a collectors edition not to drink.

So buy yours today as they'll be hard
to come by as only 1000 are being made.
Plus prices will go up on Flebay i am sure

I think that eventually all brew dog beers will be a collectors item as I can't seem them standing the test of time to be honest.

I hadn't thought about it like that Greg, its certainly beer you either like or hate as are their gimmicks.
Oh no hang on, I'm talking about Brewbogs, their beer is a gimmick.
Fermenting: Summer pale ale
Maturing/Conditioning: Marynka pseudo-lager
Drinking: Wheat beer, ESB, Vienna lager & shop bought stuff

Looks like they have had to take that Blog off their web page, silly boys as they are!

I'm sick of them to be honest. Saw that Sainsbury's had got a few of their brews in so I avoided them.
Will continue to.

Can i just ask why is everyone anti Brewdog?
I think they're innovative and have grabbed the craft brewing industry by the balls and said here we are. Yes admittedly some of their beers are shall we say of piste. But other than that they brew very good ales.
Some of the bigger breweries are getting a little stuffy and see this little upstart coming along and changing things and perhaps don't like the fact they're getting all the attention not them.
Oh well it's my opinion i will still continue to buy there beers until such time as i think they're blowing their own trumpet up their own backsides. Which at the moment isn't happening.

Im 50/50 on this one. Punk and trashy blonde are (imo) great beers. But punk aint the type of beer you could go out with ya mates and sink a load. Not because of the percentage but of the bitter taste (and yes I do love it). Saying that Ive never had it on tap so it may be well different.
I like em for pushing the uk brewing scene along a different (and needed) route but at the same time some of their stuff is just WTF.
The "fight" between them and the german boys to create the highest abv beer was just plain stoopid in the end, fairly entertaining but toward the end it just made me cringe. Plus the other beers that are around the same abv for like £100 less. I know its advertising and I know some of their advertising (like nanny state) was good.
Thats why Im in 2 minds. They are great but awful (but great)
Plus you cant say they are that gimicky. Michael Jackson (not that one) ther respected beer writer (yep that one - google it if ya dont know - bloke was a genius) tasted a brew ( a home brew )made by one of the founding members of brewdog and instead of asking all the ebc, ibu, hop schedule questions just said " So how did you feel when you realised you created a beer this special?".
Respect has to be given to brewdog for some off the beers they have done. UK didnt have much like it before hand.

I'm not anti per se, I just don't like their beer, its over bittered for my taste but one man's meat after-all is another man's poison.
Some of their gimmicks however, (clever marketing it may be) such as Sink the Bismark, provide fuel for organisations such as the BMA and blue rinse old biddy Daily Mail readers to bang on about the dangers of alchohol. The Government doesn't need any more reasons to tax beer even more.
And you have to ask, why aren't they members of SIBA?.

I used to like brewdog but I think their marketing is too gimmicky and its not backed up by great beers.
They should concentrate on making amazing beers rather than beers than will attract attention for the wrong reasons.

heh heh... what Greg said only he's said it far better than I could have.
When people spend more time discussing their antics rather than the quality of the beer, I tend to switch off. I did like punk originally, but as Nath says... one or two are enough - and the new version is shite.
They were full of jokes to begin with, now they've become one.
