Brew UK Forum | Cider Kits
The Yeast has Sunk
Hi Forum,
This is probably an easy one to answer.
Purchased 5 litres of apple juice from (concentrate) to see what the outcome would be like. Added 4 litres to glass demijohn at 22 centigrade(did not want to fill to the top just yet). Hydro reading is 1050. Added Youngs cider yeast (about 1/3 pack). Apple juice is 100g sugar per litre.
The yeast just sank to the bottom.
Shook and fitted airlock - same result
All the kits I have made from so far the yeast has always stayed at the top (I think - have never used glass before)
Should I be
a) worried
b) patient
Cheers
JH

b) patient
The yeast has started rising (very slowly) and about to get the first bubble

Hehehehehe I choose b.
Patience and brewing go hand in hand. Though not in my hand as I'm totally impatient.
Oh the answer is still b by the way!
Conditionin' - LEB Pale
Conditionin' - Thwaits Nutty Black
Plannin' - A user upper!

How about a) worried about having to be b) patient.
The waiting is the hard part.
